I started my Slam last Thursday, mid-afternoon. You can see the difference of hitting it hard and testing it frequently in less than two days. Today I can see the drains in the deep end. I am not done, but it is getting closer every day!

I was wondering about “safe swimming” levels as well. FC of 16 is the shock level for CYA of 40. So for a CYA of 60, a safe FC Level is 24 (from the Chlorine/CYA chart)?

You really can’t do a proper SLAM without a good test kit. The strips just don’t work, and you need to know your CYA level to know where your FC should be.

I actually bought pool filter DE on my last LC run. I think I will get that process started since I have everything I need! We want to swim! Lol - - - Updated - - - Super small price to pay for all the help I have gotten from this site. I feel like I have my beautiful pool (almost) back!

My pool was green and I started about that time. I could tell a difference the next morning. Start now. Test every hour and replenish as needed.

Aaaaannnnddd, my last test was 1 above my target FC level, so my LC must be good. I guess it is better than the 8% I was giving it credit for!
