Best Places to Buy Liquid Chlorine

In Oklahoma, Atwoods sells something called "Online Pool Shock" which is 10% Sodium Hypochlorite for $1.99 a gallon this time of year. GREAT value for SLAM'ing your pool!

Polaris 360 moving but not vacumming

Rose this thread from the dead. The 360 and 380 are very simple machines. They use water jets point UP from the bottom of the cleaner. This creates a suction effect. If you run the cleaner and pull it from the water, you should see those 3 jets spraying up the center. If they are not, then the...

    Clorox salt?

I used Clorox for my swg conversion last month- I got large pale-yellow stains. Purchased at Sam's Club in OKC in May. My liner is so patched and old, not sure I'm worried about it at this point. I got ~14 patches which I believe is from the kids playing with a diving brick used for lifeguard...

    CircuPool RJ45 install question!

Took a little longer than planned due to a noob PVC issue, but it's all hooked up and running. Very easy install! I haven't done any measurements yet, but it's definitely running. I'll try to throw up some measurements once I get them.

    CircuPool RJ45 install question!

This weekend I am installing a new CircuPool RJ45. I have read through the documentation, and I believe I have a solid plan. Here is a picture of my setup: The documentation shows the flow switch before and after the cell, the requirement being 12" run prior to the switch. So I think this is...

    Now Polaris booster pump died...

So...with my having done nothing at all...it's working again. Apparently I had left it turned on (with the timer off) and it ran over night. So...other than divine intervention...what could that mean? It wasn't hot the other day when I saw it wasn't working, so... Intermittent electrical issue...

    What's your pool cleaners name?

Our Polaris 380 is called the river rat...I guess because we get a lot of debris in our pool since it's under so many trees, and the tail.

    Now Polaris booster pump died...

As documented here, my main pump died, so I replaced it with a dual-speed. The Polaris 380 seemed to be working ok with the main pump on low speed, so I left it that way for the past few days. I checked it this morning, and the pool was extra dirty (we have tons of trees, and it's that time of...

Hayward 1hp Superpump died- Pentair SuperFlo 1hp Dual Speed on the way

I got the Pentair Superflo 1hp dual speed. None of the shops in Oklahoma City carried it, and wanted outrageous prices to order it. The lowest was ~$700, the highest was here in Shawnee at $1080. I laughed at that one, literally, because I believe that is higher than retail and I told him so. He...

Hayward 1hp Superpump died- Pentair SuperFlo 1hp Dual Speed on the way

So, thanks to these awesome forums, I managed to wire in and plumb my new pump and it is working great. I took the opportunity to move the pump to remove the immediate 90 degree elbow into the suction side, which necessitated a longer electrical conduit, but I think it's worth it. I believe...

Hayward 1hp Superpump died- Pentair SuperFlo 1hp Dual Speed on the way

I discovered my pump was not running (as well as timer) and found the circuit had tripped. When I flipped the breaker back and manually turned on the timer, the circuit immediately tripped. I removed the pump motor cover and disconnected the power leads, reset the breaker, manually turned on the...

Made quite few changes, now have pump/filter issues

Ok, I was wondering if that was it. The filter was so clogged that I was getting VERY little filtering last year. I had no idea what a clean bed of sand would really do, so I was wondering of that was what it was. I am currently SLAMing, it's already grey instead of green :)

Made quite few changes, now have pump/filter issues

So I got industrious and decided to remove some extra PVC after my pool heater was removed from the system last year. I removed about 8 feet total (1.5" pipe) that at about 4' had a double 90 degree elbow where it used to go into and out of the heater. This was my first foray into PVC, as I paid...

    Helping friend with green pool

Solid suggestions, thanks! So far we have added 16 lbs baking soda and he insisted on some copper-based algaecide. We will test Ta and ph again in an hour.
