Best Places to Buy Liquid Chlorine

My local Pinch a Penny is now $16.99 for 2.5 gallon refill (DFW area). Ouch.

Best Places to Buy Liquid Chlorine

I just got from Walmart in DFW area. It was only 14 days old but but had increased to ~$5.50/gallon. I thought that was ridiculous as the last time I got from there I thought it was $3.68 or so, but now that i've come here, looks like that's actually not bad.

That's a steal. Yeah here in DFW it is $14.98 for the refill plus $10 extra for the jug. Used to be $10 for the refill, up until a few weeks ago.

Ouch - I just called mine (also DFW area) and they are at $14.98 as well. So much for buying 4 jugs a few weeks ago and thinking that would be a wise move for the season.

Best Places to Buy Liquid Chlorine

Ace Hardware in Dallas area has 10% on sale for $3/gallon through 4/30. I couldn't tell how fresh it is as the numbers on the bottle don't follow the typical format of YYDDD but I decided to roll the dice at this price. It's giving me the bump in chlorine levels that poolmath suggests so i...

TA level - TF100 vs PoolMath recommendation?

I've never tracked CSI before but just did and it says 0.15 which says is balanced. Given that, are you just saying not to trust what either PoolMath or the TF-100 instructions say, and instead increase the TA such until the PH stays stable (right now PH does seem to be rising regularly)?

TA level - TF100 vs PoolMath recommendation?

Hi all, just ran my test kit (TF-100) and got following results: FC - 4.5 CC - same PH - 8.0 TA - 80 CH - 325 CYA - 40 The instructions in the TF-100 say the recommended level for manually chlorinated pools is 100-120. But PoolMath is telling me ideal level is 60-80. That's a pretty big...

DE Filter drain plug damaged - can't remove

Reporting back - the Kano Kroil worked great to loosen it up. Then wedged this metal contraption in for grip and it twisted out. Appreciate the pointers.

DE Filter drain plug damaged - can't remove

Thanks everyone. I took Allen's advice and ordered some Kano Kroil to try to loosen up the bind as a starting point. Will report back in a few days once it arrives.

DE Filter drain plug damaged - can't remove

My drain plug is really stuck. It keeps disintegrating further as I try to remove using various means. It is really old and isn't holding up well to my attempts. I tried using screwdriver on outside and pliers from inside simultaneously and how am left with big hole in the middle. Any advice...

A Cheap Pool Cooler for the end of Summer

Agree with Dave - go with threaded connection, not glue. Good luck.

A Cheap Pool Cooler for the end of Summer

I ended up re-doing mine with smaller holes which worked better. I think i settled on 1/32 bit - really tiny. 1 1/2 inch PVC in a T of ~16 inches on each side. I have it sitting just above water level (bottom of PVC is at water level). Two rows of holes. Each rows holes were probably...
