    How screwed am I?

Well, it looks like we're not out of the woods yet. Although I have cleared the blockage, I'm still not getting as much pressure as I'm used to, and the pump basket isn't filling up the whole way. Did I damage the pump motor when it overheated?

    How screwed am I?

My apologies for the confusion. Let me try to add some clarity... I was never doing anything on the pressure side, it was always suction side, either by the pump/motor/filter, or in the skimmer itself. The first thing I tried was attaching the thing I put in the skimmer to close the pool (I...

Right, I get what you are saying, I tried pushing air both directions, and no luck... So, if I do dig out the pipe, I'm assuming I need to dig the whole way to the skimmer and replace the whole thing up to the bottom of the skimmer?

    How screwed am I?

I was pushing the hose in the pipe from the filter side.

    How screwed am I?

So, I took off the impeller housing, and there were a couple pine needles in there, nothing too crazy... Turned it on and same thing... Then I put the ShopVac on blow at the skimmer and blew towards the pump and a little water came out and then nothing, no air or anything... If I stop the shop...

Roger that... I'll check the impeller shortly and then if it's still messed up, I'll try the hose trick. Thanks @Texas Splash and @oldprophet.

    How screwed am I?

That was definitely loose, I didn't snug it up, but it didn't resolve the issue... The sound of the motor makes me think something is stuck in the impeller... I'm going to take that apart next.

I don't have any shut off valves... :)

    How screwed am I?

It is for the SuperPump. The motor is fairly new, maybe 2-3 years I'm guessing... Pool water is about half way up the skimmer, so definitely within range I like to keep it. I just checked the Weir door, thinking that was the easy fix, but it's definitely moving and not stuck I'm not sure which...

    How screwed am I?

So, I left my pump run overnight last evening and I looked this morning and the water was still moving like normal, and then around 10am or so, I looked out and the water wasn't moving. Upon inspection, there wasn't any water moving in the pump either and it had lost prime. I turned it off, and...

Asking for my new neighbor who is a pool newbie, having issues with his inground pool...

Working on the SLAM now. I tested last night and FC was 7 and CC was 1. It’s still the same this morning, but in checking the CYA chart for FC for slam level, it’s recommending a FC of 16. That seems really high. Wouldn’t that take a long time for that to come down to safe levels for swimming?

Asking for my new neighbor who is a pool newbie, having issues with his inground pool...

I forgot to mention, I don’t see any algae anymore, but the water remains cloudy.

Asking for my new neighbor who is a pool newbie, having issues with his inground pool...

My new neighbor is having some flow issues with his pool pump, and I was hoping to help him out. When we opened it for the season, there was a significant amount of algae to deal with, which he has cleared, but now the flow on the pump seems to be low. He has removed the cartridges twice and...

    Problems with pool pump...

Man, I'll tell you. If it's not one thing, it's another. The motor ran just fine for about 2 hours. Got chlorine in and turned it off to bump it. Turned it on, and it was more noisy then normal. If I let it run, it would run about 10 seconds then pop the breaker. I took the basket out and the...

    Problems with pool pump...

I ripped out all the switch components, box, switch cover, etc. Cut the wires a little shorter and put all new components back on, and everything is working swimmingly. The switch box had a bunch of earwigs inside, and the wirenut on the neutral had actually melted a little. Not good. I also...
