    Iron, or possibly something else?

Thank u Tx. I have passed the OCLT test every night that Ive had the pool at SLAM levels. The pool was only the cloudy green tint color the day after filling. The pool has been sparkling clear ever since and I also have not had any CC testing over .5ppm. Another question about the sequestriant...

    Iron, or possibly something else?

Thank u Tx! So even though my water doesnt get a color tint, I'm still looking at iron? In my mind, I knew that would be the answer, but was hoping not lol. Thanks again!

    Iron, or possibly something else?

Hello everyone - I am hoping for some good direction with my pool issue. We did refill about a week ago (we fill from well water, no other option for us). When we were filling, we had hose attachment filters on 2 hoses and cotton socks (turned brown quickly) on the 3rd. As we filled I did add...

    Possible algae?

When I hook the vac hose to the return, it cleans the floor great (unless what Im fighting just dissipates) but after I take him out, backwash, and put the pump back on filter, we end up with the same issue after a few hours...its extremely frustrating.

    Possible algae?

Lol We have him too. I ran him after all the hand vac'ing to waste, and it picked up a little sand and dirt, but after backwash and rinse, once the pump began filtering after 2hrs I was back with this.

    Possible algae?

We have 2x after we got the pool clear, and numerous times last week after each vacuum. - - - Updated - - - I was actually wondering how pollen looks on the floor bottom? We have a huge oak in the yard around the pool. - - - Updated - - - One thing I haven't tried that many posters suggest...

    Possible algae?

We opened our pool a week ago and after refill, stabilizing, and chlorinating (SLAM levels) the water is a beautiful, cold dream. Except for this issue (photo attached if I did that from cell right). Here are my numbers: FC 12 CC 0 PH 7.4 CYA around 28 (was 30 but we've done vacuuming to waste)...

Keep the pool open during fall/winter, or close completely?

I'm considering just leaving my pool "open" instead of closing like I did last year. This summer was my 1st experience at opening a pool, and let's just say I didn't enjoy it much. After my water balanced, I have no issues and only require daily bleach, so I'm thinking I will prefer leaving it...

Lowering pH to get TA between target levels.

Thank u Richard, that's what I was worried most about, so why I wanted to ask b4 I did it.

Lowering pH to get TA between target levels.

Currently, my TA level is 150 (already dropped from 200 originally). It is recommended from my reading here to lower ph to 7.0 or 7.2 with MA then airate to raise ph back up to add more MA. My question is, is it ok if I want to lower ph below 7.0? No one is swimming in the pool, and won't be for...

    Rising pH

I've never shocked my pool through the entire last summer. I did obviously this year opening it, but they think I'm nuts. I've actually been asked if it's safe to swim in at my target chlorine levels bc they're used to pool store levels. I say my pool water is more sanitary than ur drinking...

    Rising pH

Thank u for ur replies! We are adding in MA to knock the ph down to 7.2. I love this forum! Other pool owners look at me with crazy eyes when I tell them how I follow these recommendations. Then I just smile at them when they tell me we can't swim in their pools bc it's cloudy after the...
