Thank you guys. Trying to get sorted out now

I unboxed my new upgraded filter yesterday - a Hayward Pro Series sand filter model S244S - and after setting in place realized the base is cracked top to bottom in one area. This this repairable somehow or do I need to get another? I was hoping an epoxy of some sort would work. Thanks.

Found out it was actually the multiport unit. Have bought a new one and replaced. The caulk issue just happened to coincide. :):whoot:

Hey all, The caulk around my skimmer faceplate finally gave way. I have no idea what was used. Is there a specific caulk or other substance I should use? It's a vinyl liner. Thanks for the help. :)

I used a dremel and vice grips to get it out. An immense relief!

Update...It's out!!!!! :rockon::rockon::rockon: I also happened to have some JB Weld for some reason. So I have also repaired the skimmer crack with that. Now waiting for everything to set up and cure and I'll be on my way to swimming again. Of course, I need a new vacuum plate, but that's...

No problem...I am thankful for the help. I will have to check these out after getting that darn vac plate out!

Well, I have not been able to remove the vac plate, but did now manage to find a crack the skimmer wall. Maybe that's why it won't come out. What now? I also just realized that the picture I posted a couple days ago shows the crack in the skimmer wall. I am ready to pull my hair out and close...

I don't know. The pool came with the house and the previous owners were of no help. So I've been learning on the fly.

Hmmmm....I didn't notice a crack, but that's what a fresh set of eyes can do. As for the Basket support ring, I'll have to look that up. Never heard of it or was told I needed it. I may not get to this again before the weekend, but I will definitely let you know the outcome. What does the...

I used the vac plate without the skimmer basket in place because I wasn't thinking about what I was doing. Yeah it's just stuck in there and I just don't know what else to do.
