    Best Chlorinator

Is the one I already have. Sorry if the title is a bit misleading, but I just had an experience that I wanted to share - and hopefully help others who, like me, have been having trouble with their Chlorinator and thinking it is time to replace it. I have a 4 year old Pentair IC60 that has...

    Pool robot

We are very happy with our POOLVERGNUEGEN Poolcleaner, We leased a house with a smaller pool that had the two-wheel model. But for the past four years we've owned a very large pool and decided to go with the four-wheel model. Have a Hayward canister in the hose line that I clean out every...

Restored Buster Crabbe, aluminum coping, coping clips, etc.....

So I put in a new liner last year, but could not come up with a solution for the coping. The coping originally had a plastic track underlayment into which the bottom of the coping attached. The plastic underlayment was completely shot and it has taken me several months to determine how to...

Water leakage coming from water return fitting

I had great results solving similar challenge - the vinyl liner in the area of the return/pressure pipe had become badly stretched and the cover plate and washers no longer sealed. I removed the cover plate over the return pipe and washers/seals and placed heavy clear vinyl (bought at local...

Restored Buster Crabbe, aluminum coping, coping clips, etc.....

I made the clips myself. I believe I saw some "clips" on the Web at about the price you mentioned. Let me know if you'd be interested in having me make some for you, and how many you'd need.

    Disolved Air Causing Dry Pump???

I think you are right on. Filter pressure was the problem. Repeatedly created the problem this AM. The pressure in the filter was immediately blowing air back into the pump. Ran the backwash - which apparently took nearly a minute to clear out the air in the filter. Problem seemed to be...

    Disolved Air Causing Dry Pump???

My pump and filter are about 20 ft and slightly down-hill from my in-ground pool. I have a new SWG and Pentair single speed pump. The plumbing includes a skimmer and vacuum line, and a single return. The water level in the pool is approximately 24 inches higher than the pump. If I don't shut...

Restored Buster Crabbe, aluminum coping, coping clips, etc.....

Update - One Year Later Continuing challenge with original coping. The pool was originally installed with a unique "track" component for attaching both the liner AND aluminum coping that is shown in the photos above. The original track material is some type of plastic that is/was installed...

1978 18x36 vinyl liner complete renovation

Wow! I'm impressed. My wife and I are old Tallahassee folks also - (Go Noles!) I'm considering a similar project for my 40x20, 1971 Buster Crabbe pool, and wondering what a DIY project like this wound up costing you in actual $$$ and what you estimate that you saved - e.g., vs hiring a good...

    replacing/fixing old coping

Turns out my pool is a Buster Crabbe - circa early 1970s. Had excellent results painting and reinstalling the coping with stainless steel screws, and made replacement clips from flat 1/8 inch aluminum stock. Pictures here - Restored Buster Crabbe, aluminum coping, coping clips, etc.....

    AquaNaut 400 vs Poolvernugen?

An interchangeable throat may be a big advantage - particularly for vinyl liners. I discovered that with my vinyl-lined pool, the Poolcleaners suction was not strong enough to maintain enough traction for the wheels' contact with the pool. I am now very pleased with my Poolcleaner, but had to...

Water Warden Pool Cover - Excellent and Bargain

I was somewhat surprised also, and decided to use clear GE Silicon II. Its great stuff and I figured it would lubricate the "tapping in" and provide protection against water and freezing around the anchor. Also, it served to smooth out some of the area immediately around the anchor, and since...
