Just wondering why the recommended TA for troublefreepool Target is 60-80ppm and the standard is 80-120ppm. Why the large difference. I've always kept mine around 90 to 100 ppm......just trying to understand the chemistry of the difference and effected results... many thanks Lawjohn.

Jeffsp. Mknauss guidance is what needs to be done. I had your problem about 10 days ago and I followed the SLAM instructions and 4 days later my water is crystal clear with no combined chlorine either. John

Jim thanks. Another quick question. If when you are doing the CC test and it goes clear, then about 4 seconds give or take it goes back to a very light pink, then it needs an additional drop to get the true CC reading. Correct? John

Newdude not a problem. BTW I only use a pool store for chlorine. In Florida Home Depot and Walmart carry everything else needed for routine maintenance at a much lower cost. Regents from Troublefreepool' sister sight.
