I ended my glued pvc with a threaded fitting, and used the threaded hose attachements that came with Hayward skimmer and return to connect to my hoses with clamps. So far so good.

I had similar issues with permits when trying to install a traditional above ground pool. Turns out they just won't let me-----but my 16x48 Intex needs no permit.

I bought a basic Hayward kit on Amazon and used it to pipe up my new Hayward filter on my Intex pool. I did sort of a partial hard pipe because I wanted valves in the lines so I can shut them for cleaning the pump leaf basket, and I didn't want to run long hoses for everything to reach.

I bought an A-frame ladder system for regular above ground pools from the local pool store, and it works ok. Its meant to bolt into the top rail of an above ground pool, but 2 ratchet straps hold it in place and it doesn't move at all. Its rated for 250 lbs, but I'm about 400 (don't laugh) and...
