I just used a drain sleeve which worked excellent for dissolving dry CYA. Its cheap -like $6 at your big hardware store. Its 10' long. Cut what you think you'll need, tie one end in knot, fill, then zip tie the other end. Drain-Sleeve 4 in. x 10 ft. Filter Sock-04010-12 - The Home Depot

According to the NPC startup found here: http://www.poolinspections.com/manuals/plaster/npc-start-up-card.pdf, it says to add diluted chlorine on day 3 and after the 4th day adjust cya levels to 30-50ppm

Yes, I am following the acid start up method and also using the Pebbletec startup procedures/levels. Pool math says to add 2qts, 5oz of bleach (6%). Should that be all at once or pace it out over a few days?
