Leaking hose connections and lots of air in pump dome

I think my hose connections are the main issue. Is there a better way to secure hoses than with the traditional ring clamp that you tighten with a flat head screw driver?

Leaking hose connections and lots of air in pump dome

Any advice how to fix leaking hose connections and why I have lots of air in the plastic clear dome of my pump, it seems to not be running normal this year at all.

How hard is it to take down a pool?

I currently have a 24 foot above ground pool and my wife and I are strongly considering taking it down due to it being a liability with our 3 small children. It is also time consuming maintenance wise which I don't have enough time for keeping it clean and running efficiently. Realistically how...

    Air in pump basket

I performed a deep clean of my sand filter a few days ago and there seems to be residual air in the pump basket. Should i check seals to see if there is an issue or should i just buy a new set of seals? I have owned the pool for 2.5 years and pump is probably older than that since it came with...

    Sand Filter

I have seen the stuff on here for cleaning my sand filter but I was curious if I need to replace all of the sand in the filter every few years or so?

    Pool is Cloudy!!!

Suggestion around here is to slam your pool with bleach to the shock level. Your CYA rounds up so it is 40, so shock level is 16 I believe. Mine was still cloudy and reading fine, I did the slam and it cleared up a bunch.

Lights and Thermometer for Above Ground Pool

Anyone have any recommendations for lights for an above ground pool? I have none for it right now and was wondering what is the go to choice for lights to help illuminate it in the evening. Also any recommendations for a thermometer?

    CYA Testing Reagent. Dumb Question

I just put all of those in Amazon and the difference I noticed is the bottle size. That is all the letter behind each of them means is a different size bottle like .75 oz, 2 oz etc. I remember reading that about the K-2006 kit where they said to pay attention to the letter after it because it...

Is FC too high to swim?

I asked this same question and found this page Pool School - Chlorine / CYA Chart to be very helpful. Like they said it depends on your CYA level which determines what shock level of chlorine is the high end for safely swimming at.

What do you to maintain correct levels?

They recommend getting a TF100 test kit on here and it is totally worth it. The instructions for testing your water are straight forward and you can get accurate results immediately. Use the links they provide for information about taking care of your pool because you should only need a...

    Pool Size

I am just gonna tape measure it this evening when I get home and punch in the numbers on pool math.

    Pool Size

I bought my house last year and they left some information on the pool but nothing about how big it is, mostly just information on the pump and filter. It is an above ground pool and I counted the pillars around the outside and estimated it to be 24ft but paced off the pool while in it last...

    Trusting Your Own Readings

I agree with your taking a sample in from time to time to see what they say. I actually did that today and proved that my test kit is far more detailed and accurate even though I think my pool store in town has semi-competent people working there. The test kits they recommend on here are worth...
