    Krusty's pool build

Heckpools, Thanks for the compliment. I am getting real antsy for summer to finally get there. It has been torture looking out at that pool all winter long. I am also used to seeing the pool filled prior to backfill and concrete. All of the other pool builders that I interviewed did it that...

    Krusty's pool build

Here are pics of the equipment pad. Here is the input plumbing. The two input lines on the left are the two skimmers. The one on the right is the main drains. This is the return plumbing. Coming out of the Heat Pump the water goes through the SWCG (IC-40). Out of the SWCG, to the...

    Krusty's pool build

mudrider420, Thanks for the compliment. The building codes here require either a 5' tall fence or a safety cover. I chose to do the safety cover. It was more expensive, but gives me other benefits like keeping the UV rays out, keeping heat in, and keeping debris out. I also think it is a...

    Pisces Pool Build

Very nice!!! Love the tile work. How are you going to run the natural gas to the fire bowls? I was expecting to see a gas line running out the top of your columns but it looks like they are solid tile.

pictures and installing questions of Pentair Deck Jets

I have the Pentair Deck Jets that have the 5 interchangeable balls, each one provides a different kind of water stream. Here is a link to the post of my pool build. If you look at the 12:26am post, it shows pics with 2 of the 4 deck jets running. krusty-s-pool-build-t10072.html I haven't had...

    eggman's pool build - finished January 8, 2009

Very nice! I get so jealous of you folks that can plant palms and tropical plants around your pools. It just seems to make the pool feel so much more relaxing.

In addition to Duraleigh's comments about longevity of wood, here are some reasons that I like concrete better than wood: 1) No splinters in bare feet 2) No stubbing of toes on nails/screws that work their way back up 3) Wood can get very slick when wet 4) I have a salt water pool so the...

    Krusty's pool build

Pisces, Thanks for the compliments. I built the outdoor kitchen last fall. I thoroughly enjoyed it this summer. The extra counter top space is VERY handy, especially with the BGE. I really wish I lived someplace where I could enjoy the lake and pool year around instead of just for 6 moths...

    Krusty's pool build

Henry, Sorry it took so long for me to reply. Been busy with the holidays coming up. The bottom of the pool was done with a sand and brick mortar mixture. They mixed it on site and mixed it pretty dry. They did a good job with it, but unfortunately they walked on it a little bit before it...

    Awesome Ribs

Congrats! The only problem now is that whenever you order ribs out at a restaurant you will be really disappointed in them! Shoulder (pulled pork) is VERY easy with the BGE, almost foolproof as long as you can keep your temp stabilized for the long cook. I cook mine for about 16 to 20...

    Krusty's pool build

That is all the pics for now. I have a lot of landscaping to do in the spring. I will be looking at the pics on this site and at others on the web to get some good ideas. I would like to work in some tropical plants somehow. I found one post on here that referred to Banana plants and how you...

    Krusty's pool build

The retaining walls are now done. The finish grade is done and the yard is seeded. I probably won't get any grass to germinate until spring, but I put it down anyway just in case the weather decides to cooperate and warm up for a while. In some of these pics you can also see the deck jets...

Prepping for the retaining walls. I hired out the dig of the trenches, but I will be installing the walls. Starting the wall behind the pool. Starting the wall along side the pool. I got bored and decided to have both of the walls going at once!

Changing the pavers to create an entrance to the pool area. Since I laid all of the other pavers, this was my chore. The newly laid block should weather to match the other pavers since they are actually leftovers that I saved from the original installation 4 years ago.
