    Another day, another SLAM

Thanks that’s the word I couldn’t find. Return fitting. You’ll love that little thing!

    Another day, another SLAM

I had a big dead spot by my stairs in my above ground and the FC would drop a bit and algae would pop up there so fast. I had a sand filter too with hsp way over what it should have been on my pool. I read about it here but I forget what it’s called. Little piece that goes on the return...

Questions about regent brands and my Frankenstein test kit.

Haha yeah as I started doing TFP methods I alreday had the hth kit that has CYA in it, only it only had enough regent for two tests so I just got more regent. Just started patching together a kit. I still use my OTO just to make sure chlorine is registering. I hate to use my DPD regent when...

Questions about regent brands and my Frankenstein test kit.

Thanks! When they run out I’ll replace them with Taylor was just wondering if it’s okay for this year. Appreciate it!

Questions about regent brands and my Frankenstein test kit.

My test kit consists of the Taylor DPD I bought seperate, my CYA test is also Taylor regent. My PH and everything else is HTH. What’s the general opinion on this? Is the HTH kit acceptable for PH and ALK? I’m vinyl and done use cal hypo so I don’t test calcium often but I have that HtH too...

Planning 2019 AGP - small yard!

Just chiming in here. I have an 18 foot round AG. I don’t think it’s too small, but anything smaller would be. My back neighbor actually has a 12 foot AG that’s not an intex. It looks like a soaking barrel. I wouldn’t go below 18 feet! Also the trees. I have a LOT of trees in my yard. Only one...

    Question about the Duda sock.

Thank you! I have the sock but I’m debating taking the 90 bend off my backwash. I’d rather use this straight piece but don’t know if it’s okay.

    Question about the Duda sock.

Hoping one of the experts can help me. I just got one on eBay to speed up my cloudy stage. I noticed all the directions and people who do this use a 90 degree bend at the return line. Any specific reason to use the bend instead of a straight piece? I ask because I have an extra straight...

    Pump/Filter blowing sand

I was just coming to tell you to check your laterals. We had a cracked lateral assembly that dumped 50 lbs of sand in our pool. Sadly we opened to a swamp so we didn’t even know until we realized the pressure wasn’t building. It was horrible! Glad all went well!

Hi everybody. Had some issues with the DE in a sand filter.

Thanks! I have a Taylor 2006. Water is very milky. Usually at this stage I expect to be backwashing everyday yet my pressure isn’t really going up. It’s brand new. Only had it for a week now. That’s what I thought. It scared me so I just backwashed it all back out and good as new. I’m afraid...

Hi everybody. Had some issues with the DE in a sand filter.

I’m at the end of a slam right now trying to clear that cloudy water faster. My numbers are good and all that. I followed the directions. Put 1/4c of DE in a bucket, took out my filter sock and added slowly. Once I gained maybe half a point in pressure my pressure shot down to zero and my pump...

What did you do to your pool today?

Skimmer hasn't been working. Things flow out back into the pool when it's turned off. Couldn't figure out why. I inspect the skimmer and see two notches. Never knew it had a door on it. Or waw supposed to! Ordered the door for 5 dollars.

Kind of an odd question I suppose.

Thanks all! I don't think it's going to be a drastic amt or I think I would "have heard" as it's common to talk about the ocean with a low salt diet and smaller kids. If I'm not mistaken salinity varies in the Pacific and Atlantic too. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the Atlantic...

Kind of an odd question I suppose.

Been doing BBB for years now. No issues besides some opening swamps. This year was really bad with the hot April and May in the NE. I just had a baby and I'm looking to ease things up even more and considering a SWG. I have only been in two salt pools. One was a friend who must have used too...

    4 day vacation coming up

Depends on what your cya is. I just left for 3 days and mine was 20 so I just threw a few pucks in the floater. I have also brought it up to shock level before as said above and had no issues.
