The reseller has been marginal at best, going to call bullfrog next. Heater is pulling amps with the pumps running and shows that its heating ... but I suspect there is something awry.

New bullfrog A8. Temp drops about 1 degree every 30 min. Ambient 50-60 degrees. Tried set at 102 for wife and I (drops to 99 then we get out. Set for 99 for the kiddo and it’s 97 within an hour. With the cover on it eventually gets back to set temp. Am I expecting too much for the hot...

If using borax (20 mule team or such) you need to add Muriatic Acid to offset ph drift, if using gentle spa you don't add muriatic acid as it is ph neutral. Given the short time your TA / pH were way off you should be fine. Glad there weren't any crazy reactions when you added baking soda.

Keep in mind that bullfrog wet tests every hot tub before they ship it. That means that you may have something alive in the drain tube (seems you have done everything else correctly and exhausted all the easy methods. What I would do (YMMV): Try this first: Bring your temp down to whatever you...

We went thru the same debate - I'm 6'2", wife is 5'6", kiddo is about 4'. Love the moveable pack and different seat depths, makes it super easy for everyone to "get what they need" in a soak session. I've been known to swap packs mid soak... Personally not a fan of loungers, I tend to float...

Long time no see! I sold the house in Houston with the pool in early 2015 and hung around TFP for a bit after. Moved to Denver in 2015 and just added a bullfrog hot tub to the back yard. Looking forward to helping out where I can again. I'm sure lots has changed from a hardware standpoint ...

Long time member and recent buyer of a bulfrog A8, fantastic thread here, thank you. I'm about 5 weeks into ownership and starting to get cloudy water. Dealer gave me a ton of the usual junk with no guidance on what to use when... Being a proponent of the TFP method I knew I would end up back...
