    Heater for 14 foot Intex?

There are a lot of inexpensive solar options that you can craft yourself with the black poly-pipe and your existing filter system. The goal with pool heating is to slowly heat a lot of water by a little bit, and not a little bit by a lot. I doubt you’d see much of a result if any from those...

Above ground pool leaked in winter

I liked this video, and perhaps some of the others may be able to give you additional tips and pointers. From what I gather you need to confirm your leak first, so finding the hole in the liner where the water is leaking and then confirming it with dye.

Has Anyone Been Successful with Baquacil?

Hey all! Just want to add my two cents for the OP. Welcome to TFP, I’m mainly a lurker here but I do enjoy reading the posts and occasionally saying hi. I’ve never had a large pool, but my 18’ round is just enough to eat all my spare time at home. I’d always been familiar with the chlorine...

Aeration to raise pH, can it be done without aeration fittings?

Well, after double checking and paying more attention it would appear my Phenol Red has expired or was exposed to the sun. It was coming out orange. I bought a new 6-way test kit and double checked my numbers. pH is 7.5 on the nose. Everything else was the same.

Aeration to raise pH, can it be done without aeration fittings?

I’ve never had to add baking soda as our water from the tap is highly alkaline and mild on the pH side. Fun fact, we pump our water straight from the lake like other Milwaukee metro communities but Oak Creek won the statewide city water tasting, so maybe they do this intentionally lol.

Aeration to raise pH, can it be done without aeration fittings?

Thank you! I’ve been fighting the higher TA lower pH for two seasons now, and I’d like to try and stay on top of it this year. This definitely helps boost my confidence. I am curious though, are we talking days? Weeks? At the end of the day I’ll take your advice and run the pump longer during...

Aeration to raise pH, can it be done without aeration fittings?

Hey all, quick question. My pH is low (6.8-7.0) and I want to raise it without raising my TA, so I have pointed my return eyeball up and am aerating in the only way I can. Is this effective? And how long can I expect this to take before I raise my pH level? I’m in southern WI so I don’t normally...

How to vacuum debris with a Hayward perflex DE FILTER

Sorry, I should have clarified! Going along with the inability to vacuum to waste. I should preface by saying I absolutely love my filter! And adding a “T” after the pump, before the filter with a couple of ball valves will do just fine in place of it. I guess I just didn’t see how vacuuming...

How to vacuum debris with a Hayward perflex DE FILTER

I just got done rereading the Perflex manual as I do every spring. It actually mentions vacuuming specifically. The manual states: “VACUUMING Vacuuming can be performed directly into the filter whenever needed. For fastest results, regenerate the filter before and after each vacuuming...

Hayward EC40AC Filter, DE Leaking Backwards?

So I have a question. I have an 18’ Coleman AGP. I installed a Hayward Perflex filter on it and precoated with DE. Over the winter some mice had gotten into the filter (on the bottom AND top were nests, cleaning the finger nest that was plugged with a winters worth of mouse Crud was fun let me...

Metal problems and Sulphur water source😞

Edit: I see the experts have chimed in again since writing this novel of a reply. Follow their advice to a T, you’re in good hands here as I’ve always found out! Hey Patti, I’m new to the pool game or rather spending this season refreshing my memory. The first step is getting free chlorine in...
