Best way to find suction side leak?

The elbow in front of the pump is coming from reputable pool store parts department. I do have a reducer on the side connecting to the 1.5 inch pipe going into ground to skimmer. I know I have a leak since this problems is a lot worse this year compare to last year. I'm actually able to see some...

Variable Pump Schedule Set Up Recommendations

I run my pump at 2200 rpm during prime day time (8am to 6pm) to allow my salt water chlorinator to run properly, but run at 1100 the rest of the time. My SWCG won't run at 1100, but I don't need/want it to run at night.

Best way to find suction side leak?

Here is my setup: I start the pump with no bubbles at all. But will get about 1 inch of free air in the strainer after 2-3 days. I'm running at 2200 rpm for 10 hours and 1100 for 14 hours. Last year would take about 2 weeks to get to the same state. I replaced all my o-rings without any...

Best way to find suction side leak?

I have air coming into my pump strainer. I replaced my o-rings, pump plugs and made no difference, so I will need to dig to the skimmer to find where is the leak. But, it does not seem to be a very big leak and I'm afraid it might be difficult to find. What are the best methods to find air leak...

1.5" to 2" on a Hayward TriStar VSP

Will go over all rings again with lub before making the plumbing change, but I already did when I started the pool and all seemed fine. I do admit that it seems worse this year than last year, so maybe I missed a section or need new rings. I do run at 50% or less all the time so if this is a...

1.5" to 2" on a Hayward TriStar VSP

The 90 is at about 3 inches from the pump inlet. So, I guess I should redo that portion to be at least 10 inches or more. Not sure how I will fit that in my filter shed, but will see if I can do that.

1.5" to 2" on a Hayward TriStar VSP

Hi, I have a Hayward TriStar VSP with 1.5" pipes from pad to pool with a 2" elbow going to the pump. Pipe is also 2" from pump to valve between filter and pump and where the backwash hose is connected. I always have some air in the basket, it can't fill 100%. I also get more air in the basket...

    Opinion on rubber bristles brush

Just to update on this rubber vs nylon brush. I did purchase the rubber bristles brush and used it for few weeks. Yesterday I decided to go back to nylon bristle brush. I found that the rubber bristle were not doing a good job in small nooks (trims holding the liner around the steps) and harder...

If it wasn't for the lack of curved edges which of the 2 (rubber vs poly) would you prefer?

    Opinion on rubber bristles brush

As anyone tried rubber bristles brush? Are they any good? or better stick to polyester/nylon bristled brushes? For a pool with vinyl liner.
