It is about a foot from the pool edge. the metal part screws into the hole. there is PVC in the hole and its about 1 ft deep with a little water at the bottom. I was thinking umbrella holder until I saw the PVC in there. Vollyball net is a good guess but here isnt one opposite the other...

Thanks for the reply Allen and you are right! I had the thought last night that I could test it on the pool mode and not screw up the Spa mode. It stops at 62 and then it is stuck there. Now Im testing to see if cutting all power to the unit will set it back to the factory spa temp of 100F...

The up button on my Pentair Mastertemp 250 is not working. Ive read that most likely the membrane needs to be replaced. Im curious though, if I use the down button will it cycle back up to the max temp? Just looking for a temporary solution :p Thanks for any info.

So is it possible to stand all of the grids up on the bottom piece and then fit the manifold on top? Or is it better to individually install them?

I am about to replace the filter grids on my Hayward DE4820. Im replacing all of them and it seems like it might be a little tricky. Any tips on the best way to go about it? Thanks!

Thanks Bama for your reply, Ill look over the manifold closely. Im still curious though, will cracked grids cause a pressure increase? It seems the cracked grids were allowing water to bypass the mesh filter and this explains seeing debris coming out the returns. However I would think this...

Ok so I am going to replace the grids. Is there anything else I should replace at this time? Also I have not service or done anything with the multi valve. Is there anything to be done there. Thanks guys for your help.

Yes I did follow the process. I just took the grid apart and noticed that most of the plastic connectors that hook into the manifold are cracked. Im guessing this is the problem.

Ok so I have shocked the pool and the FC has stabilized at 8FC 50CYA. I am still having pressure problems and I have also noticed that particles of debris are coming out of the return. Any ideas?
