    Hayward diverter 733 disassembling

Ok, I did the deed. It was really pretty easy. The good news, the seals were easy to replace. The bad news, the key seal was pretty shredded and ALMOST unavailable anywhere. I managed to find and order one, paying way more than it should be worth, but to me it's more economical than buying a new...

Not sure what to do next... not catching fines

Alright, so I did another deep cleaning. I hadn't noticed how low the sand was and it's tough to tell with the water in there. I reached in and the filter was probably a little less than half full. To put things into context, after putting the new MPV on, pressure was about 5ish psi. I got a...

Not sure what to do next... not catching fines

Mkay, so, my pool is pretty cloudy right now after an I'll advised Ph Up addition. Lesson now learned regarding aeration but now I am stuck in this cycle of cloudy water, powder on bottom, vacuum, repeat. I'm vacuuming to waste but it's a slow process for such a large pool due to water loss. To...

    Hayward diverter 733 disassembling

It occurs to me that if I unscrew the cover, I might be able to remove the handle, cover, key, and seal all together. This should allow me to deal with it in a more controlled environment. I'll try to post details about how this goes.

That's the beast. I reckon that pin pushes out. I'm hoping it doesn't require much force... finesse is not my specialty.

    Hayward diverter 733 disassembling

I was sort of hoping someone had a little guidance on removing the handle. I haven't examined it closely and it very well might be ridiculously straightforward but it's probably 30 years old and I'd rather not break it and suddenly be in a crisis. There's painfully little information about it on...

    Hayward diverter 733 disassembling

I've been getting a lot of air coming from my returns this year. I'm thinking the old Hayward diverter is a likely suspect. Parts are lean but I managed to locate a seal and spacer kit, though, I could benefit from anyone's pointers on disassembling this. Thanks in advance for any advice!

    Where did my CY go?

Well, that explains a lot. This is only my second season with this pool, and last season we had it relined. I feel like I'm going to learn a lot this year. First lesson, buy more SLAM friendly chlorine, as 25 lbs is just not enough. Lesson 2, the winter pill isn't going to last long enough, or...

    Where did my CY go?

Just got my new VS pump up and running and uncovered the pool. Murky mess, but not unexpected. So, I do a water test. CY is unreadable. Well, that's weird cause I was running around 30 when I shut it down, I pumped out just enough water to clear the returns so, I'm expecting 20 to 25 but not...

That's the goal! I like the superpump fine, but that single speed 1 horse was devouring electricity. Had to slam for almost 2 weeks and my wife would have lived to have strangled me when the bill came in.

Unfortunately, there are no rebates available. The only incentive is the horrific electric bill I get during pool season.

Alright folks, spring is upon us and I'm due to make a decision on this. I didn't capture any pics but I've decided to stick with the 120v setup I have, mostly because I don't have time to screw with it. I'm thinking I'll be going with a Vgreen ELV08C, .85 hp. I think I should be pairing that...

What thing is this? I was under the impression that the V green was pretty much a stand alone motor.

I'll see if I can get to it. It's kind of buried behind a wall of garage stuff. I'm pretty savvy with residential electricity... used to build houses for a living. It's definitely a big bar breaker occupying 2 positions in the box. I just hate to state it to be 240 until I both verify that it...
