    Flow switch and salt cell

Thank you, those links are very helpful!! Question from the info....quote: "You can run a regular Aquarite with a T-15 cell and set the cell size to T-9 or T-5 to run at lower salinity. With the T-15 cell you can run the salinity at about 1,600 with the cell type to T-5. You can run at about...

    Flow switch and salt cell

My SWG is not producing chlorine and I just realized my "no flow" light is on". I'm assuming my flow switch needs replacing, which I've done one before (maybe 3 yrs ago) so I ordered one today. If this light is on, am I correct to think my SWG won't produce chlorine? Or am I dealing with 2...

    Hot tub water temp

We're going away for 3 weeks and our hot tub won't be maintained. We can't drain it as our temps are below freezing here, so we need to keep some warm water circulating throught the plumbing to prevent damage. How low would you say is acceptable to keep the water temp?? And would you dump a...

pH testing issue and CYA questions

There was another question I forgot to ask regarding CYA. Is it possible that my CYA is going down, despite the fact I've been adding stablizer? May 10th CYA 50 - 750g of stabilizer added (1/2 of what I needed) May 14th - 800g of stabilizer added (forgot to do on the 11th as I planned) May...

pH testing issue and CYA questions

Thanks. For some reason I had in my mind that the pH meters were more accurate and I was heavily rellying on them. I'll gladly switch to using the phenol test if it's most accurate as I don't mind using that at all and find it easy to read.

pH testing issue and CYA questions

I use a pH meter to test, and recently purchased a new meter. For some reason, I was doubting the new meter and decided to double check with my old meter. I first calibrated both. Everything looked good, both were reading very similar. Today, I checked again with both and they're reading...

    Cloudy water

I didn't use the sock method, I poured it in the skimmer. To late to cancel the phosphate remover, it's already shipped. But I did check on this forum before ordering it and it was recommended to lower the phosphate. Is that not what you recommend? It wasn't to pricey and I can skip it if...

    Cloudy water

This morning we woke up to our pool water being a bit cloudy. I had my hubby test the FC and CC. The FC was 5 and the CC was 0. I couldn't deal with the situation right away because I was at work, so I had him shock the pool. He raised the FC from 5 to target of 20 (we didn't actually test...

    Pool temp and SLAM

Thanks for your input everyone. The water is crystal clear and now that it's about 74 degrees, the numbers still look great. I'll do the OCLT and cross my fingers that I pass that and can skip the SLAM.

    Phosphate??

What are the consequences of having high phosphate in my pool water?? Once a year I have to take my pool water for testing at the pool store (I know, frowned upon here, but I do it to get borates and salt levels at the beginning of the season), and my phospate level is 2159. Apparently it's...
