I had a 17' summerwaves with that same pump. I ran it 24/7 for four months straight. I had six filters and swapped them out on rotation two a day. Two in use, two being cleaned and two as backup. As long as the pump is running it will do a barely adequate job. That was the first summer we had...
get a two speed pump with sand filter rated for the size pool that your going to get next year. it will be overkill on the frame pool, but thats what im using on a 17' frame now. the piping is simple.
I would just replace it. Amazon sells the entire thing with all the parts and then youll have spares. fixing it with epoxy will just delay the inevitable. i installed one with a full pool and it was a frame pool last year!
if you can get the taylor 2006k thru amazon that will get u thru two seasons of pool chems. if you bury the paver just at ground level it will not bother the liner, cause your going to have two layers of tarp over it. mine is directly on concrete. last year the concrete was new so i tarped it...
Stick with intex! Don't be tempted with Summer waves and cheap prices at the end of the season! That's what I did and summer waves are inferior to intex pools!
The draining option will put you back to swimming faster, if the cost is less than buying alot of liquid bleach. My Ace true value has it for $1.99 gallon, Wally world is 2.50 or so. If draining you must scrub and sanitize to be rid of the algae!
