    Pressure Not Reducing After Backflush

Will do. Everything is closed here for the day so it might be a few days before I report back. I'm just going to keep things running as I see no other problems in the system.

    Pressure Not Reducing After Backflush

Ok no difference with the pump basket cleaned out. Looks like a faulty gauge. Thank you for your help.

    Pressure Not Reducing After Backflush

It goes to zero when off and no bleed port. I just noticed the basket inside the pump has a lot of debris on the pickup side (i.e. - where the water enters the pump.) It was clean when I turned the system on but I forgot to put the basket in the skimmer for about the first 10 minutes the system...

    Pressure Not Reducing After Backflush

Still reads 18 on recirculate. Does this mean either the old or the new gauge is calibrated wrong?

    Pressure Not Reducing After Backflush

It's now been running for about an hour and still pegged at 18 PSI.

    Pressure Not Reducing After Backflush

Hi All -- It's been a cold spring in NH and I just opened the pool today. Everything looks good but I left my filter pressure gauge outside over the winter and it was leaking upon start-up. I replaced with a new one and all is good there i.e. no more leaking. I didn't check the pressure readout...

    Trichlor Tabs

Seems like a lot of work, when bleach is cheaper and easier and doesn't come with CYA. Also, as I understand things some people have trouble with metals in their water and adding new water can cause a lot of problems. Or purchasing water can be expensive.

1st Year Owner - Pool Closed - Thank You!

We raised to SLAM levels and closed with solid cover, then put a mesh cover over the solid cover which we will remove after the leaves stop falling.

1st Year Owner - Pool Closed - Thank You!

Just wanted to stop by and say thanks to the forum members for all the help. We just closed our above ground pool for the winter (water 62 F so hopefully it will be ok) and ended the 1st season of use. Thanks to this forum, we went the entire season only adding bleach and stabilizer and never...

    New Pool - Cloudy Water

Almost there! Still have some zeosand collecting on the bottom but less and less after each vacuum. The water is now crystal clear and stays clear when swimming so life is good.

    Just got test kit...feeling overwhelmed

The point of doing the test overnight is to eliminate the variable of chlorine loss due to the sun. If you lose chlorine overnight, it's due to something other than the sun - typically algae. If you don't lose chlorine overnight, then you're good to go assuming clear water and CC < 0.5. If...

    New Pool - Cloudy Water

Solid progress in the new pictures. If you look closely at the bottom in the ladder image you can still see small piles of the Zeosand collecting.

    New Pool - Cloudy Water

Test results from today. FC: 9.5 CC: 0.5 (probably less but I only ran the test at the 10 ml resolution today) pH: 7.4 CYA: 40 TA: 60 CH: 50 CSI: -0.86 FC is a little higher because I was adding for 50 CYA, and I added a little extra bleach last night since we'll have a pool full of kids today.
