Trying to SLAM - bleach not responding as thought

so - my pool has been great thanks to you guys! However, I'm still getting a recurrence of a light yellow staining to the liner. Ascorbic acid does the trick - I don't even need to use a lot of it. I've tried the Pink Stuff to maintain it - but doesn't seem to work very well. Could this...

I didn't gt a reply to one question on here - maybe I'll start a new thread in regards to the staining issue. Does the sequestrant help to fight the staining - or does it mainly prevent a re-occurrence once the stain treatment has worked it's magic?

The staining is returning - I'll do ascorbic acid next round. What am I doing wrong - is it my sequestrant not doing what it should? Next round I'll hit it with the pink stuff after the acid treatment.

Does the sequestrant mainly prevent stains from re-occurring or will it also clear up some stains? I feel a slight dinginess returning. I will get the pink stuff moving forward.

yeah - it does say initial treatment would be the whole bottle - so that makes sense. I was thinking the initial treatment was more for when you're opening the pool. I'm going ahead with that.

My pool looks great! Citric acid tends to take a day longer then ascorbic for the full effect. For the sequestering agent - I added the maintenance level - should I have added a little more for the initial post stain remover treatment? I see a few places left that have a little stain left.

Still have a little more FC to drop - can everyone let me know if I bought an acceptable Sequestering agent for after the stain treatment :) https://www.poolgeek.com/products/glb-sequa-sol?variant=39330378321

ugh - I already used a little - 5 oz - is it too late? Would it be bad to buy and use the other one now?

I ended up getting hth Algae Guard 60. So - I'm waiting for the FC to go low enough to use the stain treatment - they recommend 1 or less. My problem last time is that I didn't use algaecide before and didn't bring up the levels up right away.

ok, so I passed the SLAM criteria and will let the chlorine return to normal levels. Next I will try the citric acid stain removal treatment- this worked well last time - but I didn't add polyquat 60 for when the chlorine levels were getting low. Any particular polyquat 60 brand I should...

I'm going through the SLAM process right now. I think I'm near the end of it. I had this issue before - last month I did a citric acid treatment and it cleared the stain perfectly. Then I had major clouding and green water. Since then I've been doing a SLAM - water looks good - but there is...

I do notice a little rusting with parts of my ladder - have an affect? Most of the staining usually begins by the intake jet - which is close to the ladder - should I see if the pump propeller is rusting? Could rust NOT be detected by a metal test?
