Why is the pool pump such a mystery to me? (How long to run?)

I used to run mine 8 hours per day but have recently reduced it to 5 hours per day, also because of solar. Funny how I am now more concerned about how much power I used than before getting solar. - - - Updated - - - Same here, I get practically no blown debris at all. Water looks great, but...

Thanks Jason. What's considered "very cold"? My pool temp is currently 62º.

Why is the pool pump such a mystery to me? (How long to run?)

I've heard so many different things of how long the pool pump should run...from just a general 6-8 hours a day to the hours should match the temp of the day (80º = 8 hours...110º = 11 hours). I would think there has to be something a bit more precise than that? I probably need to figure out how...

Hopefully those 24" deep soaker pipes will do their job. :) I'm also putting a hose at the base and letting it trickle for a while here and there.

Thank Modawk...we're in north Peoria. - - - Updated - - - It's pretty straightforward...we didn't do it ourselves but the company that did it basically bought the stucco from Home Depot (Base B I wanna say it was called), mixed it with water in a portable cement mixer and laid it on the...

Thanks man. I am using a few different lights... For the pygmy palms and the peach tree, I have the Malibu 20 Watt Pro Style Flood Light: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002ZRPMS6 They are ok lights, kind of cheaply built and the connector sucks, but they are somewhat cheap and small in size...

Finally time to put in the sod...pretty easy work except the edges are **** time consuming. Cool little trick I stumbled upon on accident...if you press the sod into the sprinkler head, it leaves a perfect little trace so you can cut it out accurately! Rented a roller from Home Depot and...

The multi-port drippers...each port puts out a regulated 2 gallons/hour I ran a "spaghetti" line to each plant and secured in place with little specialty stakes... Nice and neat. These are the deep watering stakes for the trees. I wanted them on a automatic timer so I don't have to run...

It's done! :w00t: Freaking finally but if I may say, I think it came out pretty well and very professional looking. :D It was a huge amount of work though, way more than I had imagined or allocated for and I had "workers" doing the hard stuff but was out there for hours upon hours everyday...

And the pros arrive! They obviously had the right equipment and knew their stuff. First tree going in (Fan-Tex Ash) Second tree in the back corner (Museum Palo Verde) Third and fourth trees in (Fan-Tex Ash and Mayer Lemon) All the trees in place! Next step for tomorrow is to...
