CircuPool Variable Speed Pump Error Code E-01

Well, I guess the warranty on the Black and Decker unit is good. The retailer is going to ship me a replacement drive unit to install... :)

CircuPool Variable Speed Pump Error Code E-01

My B&D pump died this morning with the E-01 error. I can turn the impeller easily by hand, so I don't think the motor's blocked. Perhaps the texas heat fried the inverter... Or perhaps these things only last a year.

Black & Decker (Blue Torrent) Pump Automation

I have freeze protection in my software which runs the pump automatically based on temp. I thought I had read before that the built-in freeze protection doesn't work when relay controlled, but I may be mistaken. Looks like it was still enabled on my pump too, so I disabled that. The temps...

Black & Decker (Blue Torrent) Pump Automation

Yes it's set to manual. And it's been working for over a year, so I don't know why it started acting up recently. (I recently plumbed in a SWG, so maybe I changed/lost a setting when I had it powered off, or perhaps it's always been finicky and I didn't notice). But in the past week, it's...

    Sunshade and chlorine demand?

Yeah, we've had the sail for a couple years now. It definitely helps keep the water cooler.. and keeps my bald head from burning in the texas sun.

    Sunshade and chlorine demand?

Recently installed a new SWCG, and have been monitoring Cl demand and working to get it dialed in just right. But now it's getting hotter, the pools warm, and so today I put up my shade sail. I wonder what impact the extra shade will have on my chlorine levels, if any. Doesn't really matter...

Black & Decker (Blue Torrent) Pump Automation

I have had the B & D pump for a couple years, and have the automation setup for relay control. 3 relays lets me control High/Medium/Low and off. However, I've noticed occasionally that the pump doesn't start when the automation comes on, unless I go manually press the start/stop button. Was...

    Circupool SWG with automation?

@proavia -thanks, that's what I wanted to hear. @reggiehammond - that's what I expect to do too, but wanted to know my options. to start with, I won't use any automation on the SWG.. and expect the flow switch should be enough to manage it anyway... just didn't want to limit future...

    Circupool SWG with automation?

I am looking to add an SWG to my pool. Considering the Circupool Edge40, but certainly open to suggestions. I have seen others post about using a timer switch with an SWG for fine tuning chlorine generation. What I am curious about is, does "cutting power" to the SWG reset or change the...

    Chlorinate while draining?

@reggiehammond , yeah - I don't know why I said mustard. It's probably "plain old" algae. But it's on the walls, not making the water green. Or perhaps my filter keeps the water clear in spite of the bloom.

    Chlorinate while draining?

FC 25 CC 0 PH 7.5 TA 120 CYA 120 thanks aaron, yep - I've got that one bookmarked already, along with ben's best guess chart... I think you're right, draining more to lower more CYA is probably the best bet.

    Chlorinate while draining?

no, it's not a pool store test. sorry I should have been more specific. I have a "black dot" test kit. It was somewhere around 100, so I retested with 50/50 tap water and pool water, and got around 60, which I'm interpreting as 120. I say around, because there is still a lot of subjectivity...
