    Need some pool style help

I live in the foothill of the Sierra Nevada, 2500ft elevation. Winter is pretty mild, sometimes down in the 'teens, but average is above freezing. The pool never froze and our climate never would. We were really lucky to get this pool  Never have seen them again at what we paid and it...

    Need some pool style help

Sorry this is a little late for you since you already bought the used pool, but this might help some else or you if this deal doesn't work out... We bought our pool at the end of season sale at Target. My wife kept calling them until the price was reduced as far as we felt it would go. I don't...

Need pump for Hayward EC40 filter (38gpm max)

I was kind of hoping to get away from the Intex pumps. Mine is really noisy, but maybe the 2500gph is better. I take it a flow restrictor of some sort is not a good idea? Mike

To all the Newbies like myself

I just wanted to echo the praises for this forum. You all have helped me out so many times, even it you weren't helping me personally, you were answering someone else that had the exact same question  Another other cool thing is like being in Home Depot's swimming pool section and...

Need pump for Hayward EC40 filter (38gpm max)

I have hooked up a Hayward EC40 filter (price was right - FREE) to the original Intex pump/filter combo that came with my pool. I removed the cartridge from the Intex unit and plumbed the EC40 to the pump output using 1-1/2" PVC. Right now it all works and is keeping the pool sparkly clean...

    What's your current pool temp?

Last night it was 74 and the kids have been swimming in it as soon as it passed the 70 degree mark :o That's too cold for me, but they couldn't wait! I hope to get a solar heater soon, so until then it's up to mother nature and the solar cover.

Intex owners: did you leave yours up over the winter?

I left my 18ft metal frame up. This was the first winter season for it though. Just opened it up last weekend and it looks great. Even had clear water :-D Living in the foothills of Northern Calif our winters are pretty mild compared to many of you, but we did get some snow this year. Can't...

Is it possible to 6.0 FC at opening?

WOW. I'll say. We set this pool up for the first time last summer, so this was the first time I had ever tried closing a pool for the winter. Can you say "Beginners Luck"

Is it possible to 6.0 FC at opening?

Thank you. I didn't know that about the TA. If I was wanting to lower the TA could I just aerate without adding acid since the pH is a little low already? I will work on bringing the CYA up. Thanks, Mike
