I would definitely buy from a long time dealer. It will break. Jet mat crack. You will be glad you have a dealer to go to. Definitely at least sit in some. You won’t need water to see how you like the contour, the uprightness, etc. My wife and I had a brand picked out (big name reliable)...

When I SLAM, I check my Cl level to be sure it gets where it’s supposed to. It seems I always have to add a little more Cl than what is called for.

If there is a one day gap, I stay with my schedule. If I’m gonna be gone several days, I take it to 16 ppm chlorine and hope for the best. If I’m gonna be gone for a week, I have some lovely neighbors…

I expect the plastic to fade a little over time. Two of use our tub every day. I add 2 oz liquid chlorine am and pm. I think you will be much happier adding small amount of chlorine daily. I use Aqua Finesse on a weekly basis. I purge every 6 months with AhhSome gel.

Check your jets. That would be my first place to look. I’ve had 3 break in my first 18 months.

I messed up by daily adding Dichlor to get my CYA up. I, like you, have learned to wait a few days as the CYA "release" is a really delayed reaction. Next fill I will be a lot more patient as I raise my CYA with Dichlor.

Chlorine. Cheap, effective, traditional, etc. Dichlor (correction) at first and moving to liquid bleach at CYA 30-40.

I’m not familiar with your “purging”chemicals as I only use AhhSome for purging. I just use a microfiber towel to wipe off any gunk (biofilm) from the acrylic before the gunk dries. If you are satisfied you have killed what you needed to kill, I’d do a final purge with AhhSome. I’d run it 3-4...
