Im not worried so much on the filter pressure (its rated to 50). I dont see how a smaller impeller will reduce electricity usage, motor is still gonna spin the same.

I had your problem last year once. It was the Cal-hypo clouding everything. Whats your OCLT? If its zero, stop adding stuff. Let the water sort out with the filter. It took 2-3 days when I had this to fix itself. From your last post, whats your Calcium hardness? Very likely could also be that

Dunno how big your pool is, mine is a 25k gal, I go through 4-5 gal at a time adding for a slam, 2-3 times a day for a few days. You can add as much as you need to to get up to SLAM level. I normally aim for about 20 chlorine level, which 4-5 gal will do. Per the slam guide, youll be doing this...

How are you testing? How are they testing? Not saying I trust theirs, but different test methods will give different results.

Aye JamesW indicated same. I totally forgot they were threaded and never considered it. I think they are threaded internally too but its a matter of finding a union to work for that. Thanks all!

Joy, thanks. Whats the thought on replacing with some screwed unions to ease this in the future? Unless youve a way to unglue previous cuts and fitted unions?
