No, but you can see the plates when you look in the end. I checked it earlier this year and so no evidence of any scaling.

I read 2500 ppb, so I guess I have high phosphates. I don't have any phosfree but I do have revive which says it clears orthophosphates. Could it hurt anything to throw revive in?

I called discount salt pool, who I bought my SWG from, and he said it sounds like the SWG is working. He suggested that I might have high phosphates in the water which is making it easy for organisms to grow, which my chlorine is instantly killing off. This is creating a high chlorine demand...
