I ended up finding the exact same filter locally in like new condition, with four new cartridges, for an absolute steal. I picked it up yesterday morning. It works perfectly, so my mini crisis has been averted. Lol Thanks everyone for your help!

That's going to be a major pain when I replace it. There's no spare plumbing to cut into to move things around. All the valves are bumped right up against one another. 😡😡 What was the purpose of swapping them?

My pool is approximately 15 years old. The OE cartridge filter, a Hayward C5520CP, just cracked. Of the current ones out there, which one would be the most comparable, and the simplest to install (pipes lining up to fittings, etc) based on the current 5520? Thanks in advance!

That sounds like a great idea. The only thing I wonder is if the water would get too warm/hot for the little jerks. I live in Phoenix. Even the pool is up to 93 at present. The fountain water would def. get hotter than that.

I have the exact same issue. I'm constantly cleaning poop off the spa wall right at the spillover (which apparently their own personal water fountain) :mad: I bought an owl with a bobble head from Home Depot yesterday and set it right where they hang. There was a bird standing ON ITS HEAD...

The first two pictures were both of the old EcoStar wiring from the automation unit. The third is just a glimpse into the new pump.

So I need to trace them back to the automation unit to see where they originate? If you look at the original picture, the EcoStar was using four wires on the automation side, but they were bunlded down to two on the pump side, which was also confusing to me.

I know. I'm using the onboard just until I get this figured out.
