    Replace the water or not?

Also check out the Pool School article on the CYA test, if you haven't already. It's pretty challenging to get good, consistent results, especially on the higher end, and reading it incorrectly could cause you to set your target FC too low.

    IntelliConnect with IntelliFlo VS+SVRS

This looks like it could be the perfect option to pair with the IntelliFlo 3 that @Jimrahbe recommended. We will for sure dig into the local regulations before making any final purchases, but these suggestions give us a good place to start with, which is what I was hoping for. Thanks!

    IntelliConnect with IntelliFlo VS+SVRS

Ours really has not ever presented any major inconveniences, except for during vacuuming. And that is easy enough to remedy by hooking up the vacuum with the pump running at low RPM and then slowly ramping back up to the necessary speed. Anyway, this is the first I've heard that a retrofit...

    IntelliConnect with IntelliFlo VS+SVRS

The IntelliFlo VS+SVRS we've had in our Arizona pool has finally kicked the bucket after many years of reliable service. Unfortunately, we do need to replace it with another SVRS pump since it's an old pool with a single bottom drain cover 🙄 Anyway, it's a great time to also finally install a...

    Liquid chlorine use after SLAM

That's true, but if her pool didn't pass the OCLT before she let the chlorine return to normal from SLAM levels, then she wasn't fully done with the first SLAM and that would explain what's going on. That's all I'm asking about.

Raising TA first time, double check me pretty please?

A lot of fill water has high TA, so you’ll definitely want to test yours first. If it’s high, that will naturally bring your pool TA up over time and you should skip the baking soda.

    Liquid chlorine use after SLAM

SLAM isn’t technically done until you pass the while still at SLAM level. Was that the case and it’s since gotten this bad?

This much acid demand is normal....right?

Next level tracking, right there. Nice! Yeah, with that little water going in the effect should be minimal.

POOLNerd vs. pool retailer - who's test is more accurate?

If you were to run out during the season, R-0013 is cheap on Amazon. 2oz for $10 or 16oz for $15.

    High CC after shock

Shock isn't a one time thing, it really is a process or else it'll only be partially completed and you can end up with lots of CC's or doing almost nothing at all. True SLAM requires getting the FC up to SLAM level and holding it there until you pass the . That's why it requires a legit test...

This much acid demand is normal....right?

If the fill water you use to top it off has a high TA/pH, that could be at play as well. Though, if it stays covered most of the time, I'm guessing you don't have to add a lot of fill water so the effect is likely not that strong. For context, I have to add about a gallon of acid a week simply...

Safe to put discharge in yard when lowering CYA?

We dump 1/3 of our pool, about 20,000 gallons, out every year to winterize it before putting the cover on, and it's never killed the grass or anything. I have the chlorine up to SLAM level at this point, too.

    New fill start on chemical

Test your cyanuric acid (stabilizer), enter it into PoolMath, and it'll tell you what your FC level needs to be. The test can be a little tricky, but this post has some great tips. The warning on the skimmers not to add chemicals there is probably aimed towards trichlor tablets, which will eat...
