Featured Best Places to Buy Liquid Chlorine - Reboot!!

I found a chemical supply place in my town. Greenwood, SC. He supplies chemicals to pressure washers, car washes etc. I have been buying LC in 5 gal jugs from him. $20 for 5 gal if I bring the jug back. I think its 12%. Not as convenient as Walmart, but I dont have all those empty jugs to deal with.

    Is my pool completely screwed?

I have been following the TFP for about 8 years. It is well worth the time to read the pool chemistry sections on this site. Once you understand the chemistry, the rest makes sense. I only use liquid bleach, that I get from a chemical supply house that serves a lot of pressure washer folks...

    Walmart Great Value bleach

I just bought some of this Fabric bleach not knowing it was different. Foamed when I poured it in and that caught my attention. So frustrating. I am done with Walmart. I use distilled water in my office sterilizer. I bought distilled water from Walmart and my sterilizer started throwing codes...

    Liquid chlorine date of manufacture

Thanks for sharing. Storage temperature has a big impact on the shelf life. Lowes stores their Chlorine outside in the garden center, you could probably drink it by the end of the summer based on how often they restock!

    Liquid chlorine date of manufacture

Wow, I didnt know all those different ones existed! What do most people think is a reasonable shelf life for liquid bleach?

    Liquid chlorine date of manufacture

My pool runs year round. I went to buy some liquid chlorine today as mine was getting pretty old. Lowes and walmart are about the only two places nearby that sell high concentration. I went to Lowes and their dates were December 2022! Walmart had some dated May 26, 2023 for $2 cheaper per...

    Air bubble in return

Here is my set up. I think the problem is the valves. I have never had them apart. I took apart the manual one and one of the o rings was pinched. I rarely turn that valve and I bet it was stuck and twisted the o ring. I had some o rings that were pretty close and put them in. Seems a little...

    Air bubble in return

Just spoke to the pool builder and he said to check the valves, as they may be a source of air. That may be the issue.

    Air bubble in return

Pool system is probably 6 years old. I havent had this issue before. I am getting air into the system. I have checked the skimmer lid (at the pump) replaced the o ring, swapped lids, and replaced the o ring at the coupling on the skimmer side (suction) side of the pump. Nothing seems to make it...

New pool owner with schedule problems

A few years ago I bought a system that slowly added bleach to the pool over time. I cant recall the name. You would pour in a bunch of bleach and you could adjust the flow. It was a real pain and never really worked, even though it had a lifetime warranty. Hoses and valves would leak, the bleach...
