    Is this black algae?

Thank you. SLAM commencing again. How does this play out actually? There's enough chlorine to to kill the algae, but not enough to prevent it 100%? I imagine the dead algae will need to be vacuumed up? Or will activity in the pool combine it with the water and help the filter take care of it?

    Is this black algae?

Another AGP with what appears to be algae(dust) at bottom of pool: Intex 12x24x52 Saltwater and sand filter system. System runs about 8hrs per day to maintain levels. CYA:70 PH:7.6 FC: 7 Clouds away when disturbed. I can vacuum it up, but it will eventually return. SLAMmed a couple of times...

    Replacing pump for 12x24x52

That appears to be just the pump and and sand filter. The pump controls the saltwater components, so I don't see how that will work with any of my existing components or provide the saltwater capabilities I currently have. Am I missing something?

    Replacing pump for 12x24x52

Hey everyone, I am bringing my 2018 Intex 12x24x52 back in service this year and the pump does not sound happy at all. I have tried in vain to find the replacement pump (SKU 12527EG 1600gph sand/saltwater) with no luck. I guess my current options are (from cheapest to most expensive): Take...

SLAM level for small amount of algae

I believe the recurring algae is due to the constant flow of debris from the trees above the pool, which not only drop leaves, but this fine dust and small particulate. It's a constant battle to be honest, but they are city trees and I have little recourse. Since the algae always begins to...

SLAM level for small amount of algae

Due to the recent warm weather in the Bay Area, California, my AGP has been maintaining a nice temperature of about 86-90 degrees. I do have a little battle with nearby tree debris but nothing I don't keep at bay with regular skimming and vacuuming. Every few weeks though I do notice a very...

    Degree of error during SLAM

I'm currently in the middle of a SLAM on my Intex 8500 Gallon saltwater AGP. Since my CYA is at 70-75, I have been testing the FC at 30 right after sunset. This requires 60 drops of R-0871 reagent in 10ml of water. I ran two tests this morning before sunrise. The first measured 27 FC and the...

City Trees, the bane of me and my pool!!!

<rant> Anyone else have problems with city trees interrupting what would be an otherwise straightforward pool maintenance schedule? We have a row of trees behind our pool that is a constant supply of leaves, debris, dust, and other nuisances in regards to our pool. It seems these particular...
