Pentair Filter Cleaning. What do you do?

Good points and I did mis-type. Power washing is with a hose and nozzle from walmart. Not the big gas powered blasting things. Three years huh? Once I get more space here I will post up some pics of before and after. Things get DIRTY!

    My First Pool

FYI: For information on bleaches (or other chemicals) like % Ca(ClO)2 or NaClO, Google the product name and either "MSDS" or "SDS" Canada is signatory to the global harmonizing of Material Safety Data Sheets. So you will find that info there in bulk

Just found out about TFP, here to give pool gurus a good challenge.

Unless you are having an out right deluge, as long as your pump is running and it has not rained in say about 30 min, you should be fine to test.

    Hello (New Member)

Yes! The pool over flows (negative edge) to a beach entry "moat" that is around 3/4 of the hot tub.

Controll Panel? How do I find it?

My other forum (cars) uses this same software and a link to the "user control panel" we put in the mid line header. (On this forum where you see Home, Pool School, Forum, ect.) It makes it very easy to follow the threads you have posted in. There is an option when posting here to receive...

    Old pump motors. Advice?

I replaced three motors this spring. :-( The local motor guy said they were beyond repair. I still have the old ones and they are heavy as ****. Is it worth my time to pull the copper out of them to sell to the recycler?

Pentair Filter Cleaning. What do you do?

So I have 3 pentair systems. 520sq ft four filter jobs. Two run the pool and one runs the hot tub. The two that run the pool run all year, but only run 6 hours a day in winter unless it drops to 35 deg F. (My pool is essentially open all year round.) My usual activity is to fully replace...

    Hello (New Member)

Seriously good eyes. But I found this part of the link interesting: "Out of more than 40 million cylinders, no Luxfer cylinder made from L6X® (6061) alloy has ever exhibited a sustained-load crack." But rest assured that tank will be deadlined till i get it looked at. (Odd my scuba dealer has...

Anyone have consistent luck with "in floor" cleaners??"

Wow. My experiance is this: You do need a special tool. All of the heads must rotate in a certain way (they called it syncing) or some will counter act the others. The only way to adjust them is with the tool. Doing this is extremely complicated with out scuba gear. End point: The robot is...

Anyone have consistent luck with "in floor" cleaners??"

Like these? http://www.1paramount.com/ I have a large pool which is run by two of these systems. I have about 30 of them in the pool itself for close to 10 years. They never worked right. Ever. Does anyone have a system that DOES work well?

    Hello (New Member)

Hello and thank you for all the kind words. To answer a few questions, The pool is just shy of Jr Olympic size or about 75 meters. We started it in 2003 and it was 95% finished by late 2005. I say 95% because the company building it went belly up and it was never fully completed on the...
