Back when I had one of these pools I used to get the shop vac out and help to remove some of the remaining small puddles to help it to dry faster.

Does the winter cover also cover the skimmer box? And if the water level should rise...what prevents it from freezing in your skimmer and cracking it? I know to remove the hose so it can drain....but it still concerns me.

I more than likely do not have flex hose then...it sure looks like it would fit the description. But after two mishaps with the pool hoses in the first two days of operation...I agree with simicrintz...the PVC is the way to go. It will give me the piece of mind that I am looking for!

kincer there is something for you to consider here if you have not already. When you use water you get billed for it twice. By that I mean...you get charged for the sewer portion as well. A phone call to the city clerk will ensure that you only pay for the water which will cut your water bill...

Pool has been full and running for two days. I took my water sample to the pool store. They used some kind of a computer to do the analysis. Here are the numbers they gave me. Total Chlorine 4.3 Free Chlorine 4.3 PH 7.2 Total Alkalinity 140...

It is partially my fault...I should have checked them all when I put the skimmer hose on...ughhh....I am so unhappy right now! This pool is not off to a good start.....at all!

Sorry the water is actually pretty clear. Just checked the FC and it is around 7 or 8 it appears. I turned the dial down to low on the feeder. I will do the chlorine drop test tomorrow night after I have all my numbers from the pool store. Thanks so much for your help. This is a great forum!

I added 1 lb (16 ounces) of stabilizer...per the pool calculator that should get me to 15 cya...I will add another lb as soon as it is dissolved. I also added three pucks to the feeder. I will take a water sample with me tomorrow and take in to the pool store after work.

I added 1 bag of super shock FC is 5...I expect this to rise as I just added it 30 minutes ago. PH still 7.2 TA is still off the charts. So should I put the chlorine in as well?

Okay so I can now shock...and add the chlorine now then? Sorry if I was harsh but I am in panic mode as it is now day 3 with no shock or chlorine in the pool. I have had a pool but nothing this size.. How often should I check my ph and alkalinity given my numbers?

Ooops sorry fixed the gallons to 8500. Just did another test PH 7.2 Alkalinity...still off the charts

Okay 2 hours ago I added 1 gallon muriatic acid. Below are my numbers. ph 6.8 FC 0 (If I understand this right no shock until I get my Ph and alkalinity fixed?) CYA is zero...just put the sock and stabalizer in tonight TA...so dark blue it is off the charts...all I have for now is my test...
