    Phosphates and implications...Sunday ponderings

Thank you Leebo. I follow the Taylor instructions to the letter....first test I did was the 0 to 1000 ppb test.....solid dark blue. Did it again, same thing. THEN, did the 0 - 6000 ppb test. Same result. For the 0-1000 test: 1. rinse/fill to 5ml (and I'm OCD so I get it almost...

Thanks, will see if there's a connection with salt & phosphates.

Ohhh. But that said. I just looked up a Leslie’s test they did very soon after the pool was opened shows phosphate at 1,148.

I don’t know about the sequestrates. Don’t have phosphate remover bought…yet

    Retest is definitely 6000+.

ok. I’m gonna give it another try for sanity check.

Since it’s not the fill water. I do have an aqua pure system which has that swcg + minerals cartridge. Ps — don’t plan to ever replace the minerals one since it adds metals…just let it sit there. Not sure if that factors into this conversation.

…**drum roll** Fill water is ~150 ppb

Great idea. Have had to fill it a lot recently.

Oh wait. Toads LOVE to jump in at night. Most of them get out by morning but an occasional one is found in the strainer basket.

Thanks. But is 6000+ even normal? Only thing I can think got in is leaves, dust and occasional grass clippings.

Experts, I have a salt pool and recently ordered the Taylor Phosphate test. It tested 6000+ ppb. New'ish pool...opened Oct 2020. I've kept CSI maintained pretty nicely....currently @ -.15 Other specs: Temp 95, TA 90, CYA 70, PH 7.5, Salt 3000, CHL 5.8 I've read that it's no issue if CHL is...

Scale forming at the top of the tiles??

@proavia Waterline is pristine clean...it's at the top of the tile. But I think I have a handle on this now. Going to give the muriatic acid cleaning solution a try in a bit.

Scale forming at the top of the tiles??

Thank you. I then read more on efflorescence in other articles and very good info. It also sounds like this is non-warrantiable on the "sealing" of it. It's not completely around the pool...but about 25% of the tiles....annoying but will try the muriatic acid cleaning approach. Thanks again.

Scale forming at the top of the tiles??

TFP Expert team, I had a pool installed last year....opened it in October 2020. Obsessed with keeping my CSI balanced between +- .3 I have an interesting thing happening though....there appears to be something scale-like forming at the TOP of the tiles....and a thick/weird...
