Filter sand being shot into pool

This is likely not your issue but for any noobs out there like me..I was getting brown water shot into my pool whenever I started my pump up and realized TODAY I had never backwashed my filter in the 10 or so months I've had the pool up and running o_O. It was about a solid minute of chocolate...

Update on my pool - Only took me 5 months to get it set up :)

All, I made my first post here in early May titled "Almost above ground pool owner. Help put my mind at ease about cooling the water!". I ran into a several months delay trying to get the ground prepped, but finally secured another kind soul who helped me get everything prepped/level/etc...

Hey folks I know it's been a while..I am back on track trying to prep for this pool...after all this prep-work the actual pool assembly is going to feel like a dream :). My neighbor, bless his soul, came over on Monday to help us scrape away the grass with his tractor. I bought a shade sail...

Sorry for the frustration folks...things were going along nicely..then the shade sail started ripping at the corners...then I got sick most of last week so didn't make any progress in reinforcing the sail or prepping the ground...so now I've got a pile of dirt in my driveway I probably shouldn't...

Aaaarrrggghhh this keeps getting more complicated 😵‍💫. Ok let me see what kind of pit I’ll have scraping it down to level. I guess this is where it gets even more important to know exactly where the footprint will be 😬. And I knew the scraping thing at one point but forgot in all the other...

thanks! My neighbor is telling me I won't be able to control the temps due to the sidewalls absorbing the heat throughout the hot summer but I feel like I'm in too deep (pun intended) on the project to turn back now...I got some fill dirt in cause where I need the pool to be is in a low spot...

I got some 2” vinyl webbing and heavy duty thread. Hoping to sew/glue the mess out of it and make a reinforced triangle/loop on each corner and maybe even threading a metal cable through a few grommets to give it even more support/strength.

got all the hooks up and started stretching the corners of the shade sail tight between the trees and the grommets started to tear out in the corner o_O. Looking to see if I can reinforce the corners to salvage the sail.

yes I plan to center it between the trees so it shouldn't be directly under any branches...but I also want to look around today to see if I should trim any branches that are going to be in the way of the shade sail or even begin to approach the pool...

Here’s the site “before” picture. I’m going to try to string up the shade sail today.. The area between the 5 trees out there. Pay no attention to the overgrown flowerbeds 🤨

Ideas to protect pool equipment from the sun?

I came here to suggest the PVC and shade cloth, but I see it's already been suggested! +1 then for that idea..especially if it doubles as a soccer net :)...WIN WIN! PVC, Primer and glue is super cheap...and so is shade cloth...all easy materials to work with...

yeah based on the feedback from everyone here it seems both the shade and fountain will be needed to get the desired results....hopefully it will be enough to not need additional cooling wizardry :)
