    Scaling flakes

So far seems to have worked! I'll keep monitoring but if anyone is having a similar issue here is what did it for me... First, I ran the robot through the pool a few times to clean up the flakes lying around. With pH at 7.2 i ran the jacuzzi until the pH was at 7.6. Dropped it back down to...

    Scaling flakes

I will try to lower the TA and post back about results. Would like to stay away from borates if possible. I'll post back results. Thank you!

    Scaling flakes

Thanks for the reply! TSI at -.22 using pool math. Playing with the numbers in pool math if I lower TA to 70 and keep pH the same csi barely moves (goes to -.4) Is it better to try and get a lower csi to help dessolve the solids? How can I attain that without throwing the water balance off...

    Scaling flakes

Hi I've noticed scale flakes develop this season. I have been trying to figure out how to get the scale flakes to devolve without having to refill a third of the pool water. FC 5.5 pH 7.2 TA 100 CH 550 CYA 70 Salt 3200 Pool temp 84 According to the Taylor wheel if my pH is kept around 7.2...

Heater causing water to turn cloudy

Sorry it took so long to reply here... The system is about a year old and was used numerous times without issue. Oddly enough it just stopped getting cloudy after about 7 days on it's own. Not sure what that was but I'm happy it's not clouding up again. Appreciate your help!

Heater causing water to turn cloudy

No. SWG is off in the spa. I Called pentair and the person I spoke with seems to think its defenitely a chemical that is turning cloudy when heated up. My numbers are all in the target range so I'm really not sure. I was instructed to lower my FC to 1.5 saying 5.5 was way to high.

Heater causing water to turn cloudy

The booster pump is only for the jets. The main pump is combined with the pool but in spa mode it is only retuned to spa (although it does run through the filter). If I turn the pump off it will actually stay cloudy. Seems the filter is doing a good job clearing it out.

Heater causing water to turn cloudy

About 2 days ago the attached spa began to cloud up when I turned on the spa with the heater (pentair 400k). When I turn the heater off the water clears up in a few minutes. As soon as its turned on again it again clouds the water. My current levels: FC 5.5 pH 7.4 TA 90 CH 370 CYA 70 Salt...

    Do I have algea

I passed the oclt last night! Going to let the chlorine drift back down now. Unfortunately the stains are still there but I am going to try the vitamin c thing and hope that helps. Thanks for all the help!

    Do I have algea

Ha! I think i have a case of POI (pool owner impatience). You are so right about the chlorine loss. All the extra chlorine has dissipated already. I thought about brushing the cover but too much work. I've deliberately brushed it against the coping when rolling with the hope that it will remove...

    Do I have algea

Day 3 chlorine demand is dropping...this mornings test was 21ppm so a drop of 3ppm overnight. I am hopeful that I will pass the test tonight. Water has defenitely become "crystal clear" even though I thought it was clear before I began. So cool to see the progression! I added a little more...

    Do I have algea

SO Ok for night but will remove during day. I did notice the CC improved slightly. - Still registers as .5 but definitely lighter pink than yesterday. Thank you!

    Do I have algea

I have been SLAM'ing the pool - Adding a TON of chlorine brought chlorine up to 24ppm based on pool math. Sunday night was first night. OCLT started at 24 and ended at 14 in the AM. Couldn't believe the drop. Yesterday brought back up to 24 and OCLT this AM was 19.5. Definitely getting better...
