i know this is old, but was your heater also an IDL H400? i'm curious as i got a replacement oring for mine that is identical to @swamprat69 and i'm fairly certian it is an OEM hayaward ring, but it is round, not oval as you are mentioning. wondering if your model has that shape and OP does...

I don't think this thing has any internal or external bypass, but it is only leaking when it it running or trying to fire up. I have been trying to troubleshoot some other issues, but as I'm sitting here recently, I can clearly see that it's got a running drip only when it's is running or trying...

I was referring to #5 and #6 in the image below. I see from the parts list #6 is it. I did try to look through to find a list of what limits might be needed to check, but haven't found anything yet.

Yeah, I didn't look for the glow, but even the external part was smoking hot. Are the vac switch(es) one or both of the large diaphragm pots up above the boards?
