I do have automation but this is not currently part of it. It has been a struggle to get people out and the resurface and move cost a bit, so not a big priority at this point.

To be clear, I bypassed my water softener for the initial fill, but use softened water to top off. Which are you interested in?

I have the same thing, mine is 3 years and doesn't seem to get any worse. I'm not worried about.

Couple of notes....it only says to lower the PH to 7.2 just to make sure you get the PH in line (whatever your target) before moving on the CYA. Also--regardless of skimmer vs sock method, you shouldn't clean or backwash for a week.

Hello all, From inside the pool, if I look under the top rail, I can see a small gap between the top rail and the actual pool wall, so that when water is actually splashed that high, it is able to escape the pool. Keep in mind, it is still covered by liner, so it is not going behind the walls...
