HDX Chlorinating Liquid from Home Depot

Hello everyone, I was in a pinch and purchased HDX chlorinating liquid from Home Depot because my intex sand filter has the error code 91 (low salt) despite the salt levels being at 4130ppm, so it's not producing chlorine. Anyway I am trying to balance my water using pool math but when I...

Opening to slight green water ring on edges

Hello everyone This year it has been a little warmer and I opened the pool around the same time of year as usual, but as a result there was some green around the edge ring of the water. It is also ptetty cloudy. My question is should I open it as normal and run a chemical test first or do I...

    Intex zx300??

It's funny because mine just stopped moving about this year. It was fine last season but upon opening up this year it moves then stops and gets stuck!

Do I need to add salt yearly to salt water pool?

@Mdragger88 I like the zx300 and it seems to get the job done and I like that it climbs the walls (not sure if the original did too) but so far I'm happy and I got it for the same price as the original so I got it and returned the original intex. It does seem to move very randomly and seems to...

Do I need to add salt yearly to salt water pool?

Thanks everyone. @AK- & @Mdragger88 So I drained down below the skimmers and refilled with a garden hose then to test everything except salt I used the recommended Taylor 2600-c kit but for salt I used a digital salt test meter I got off of Amazon as it's all I have? Salt test kit...

Do I need to add salt yearly to salt water pool?

Hello I know this might be a silly question but do I need to add pool salt to a pool yearly? I opened my saltwater pool today and got it cleaned, ran the pump for 30 minutes then tested my water. Below is what I got... FC - 1.2ppm CC - .8ppm Ph - 7.0 (7.43 digital) TA - 90 maybe 80 ppm CYA...

    Winterizing my AGP Intex

So I'm hoping I'm not going to regret this but since I closed down so late I didn't take out the strainer and just put the top hat on and the strainer cap back on just like @charliej . We will see how it holds up if it freezes. Wish me luck guys..

    Winterizing my AGP Intex

@Aleksey thanks for saving me lol I'll remove the strainer and use the flipped top hat method. I did have a concern of freezing cracking the strainer so I guess it's best to remove all plastic and external pieces from inside the pool. Worst that can happen is water would leak out from there if...

    Winterizing my AGP Intex

I guess seeing it both ways makes one wonder which top hat method would work best over the winter... I am almost inclined since there are two inlets to do one, one way and the other the other way and compare directly the results in the spring with them not being drained below them. I'd just...

    Winterizing my AGP Intex

@charliej OH I see and think I get it and see where the confusion was... It sounds like others were taking off the threaded strainer cap and also the "plate" labeled "poolside" and reversing the "top hats" to go inside the hole with the top hat end going in through the pool wall inside first...
