Have been running my SWG at max level, pump running longer, to keep water at shock levels. Now I need to bring level down to swimming-safe levels

Just tested today (I already turned down SWG from 100%, to around 50% days earlier). Today I decided to measure chlorine level. It's at 35 (!!). We are hoping to swim in about a week. I turned off SWG completely (for now). CYA level is currently 70-80ppm, water temperature about 81, and...

Is downsizing from 3hp variable to 1.85hp variable a valid suggestion if we want to try to solve the air bubble issue?

Happy to report that the ordeal is finally over. Via subsequent interactions/dialogue with Polytec Pools, they confirmed that they wanted me to actually open up the box and inspect before accepting. So I guess there was some sort of miscommunication between Polytec Pool and the freight service...

Is downsizing from 3hp variable to 1.85hp variable a valid suggestion if we want to try to solve the air bubble issue?

No, the box appeared fine. However, I paid $800, shouldn't I be able to open up and confirm the item is what I ordered (no swapping of item or such?). I'm just taking PolyTec Pool's instructions at heart, I didn't expect to run into resistance here. This seems to be a communication issue...

Is downsizing from 3hp variable to 1.85hp variable a valid suggestion if we want to try to solve the air bubble issue?

Ordered this the same say you suggested this (last Sunday). Thanks by the way, great pricing! Unfortunately there was a situation with the freight deliveryperson today. Despite me showing him I had explicit instructions from Polytec Pools to investigate box for damages including opening up box...

Is downsizing from 3hp variable to 1.85hp variable a valid suggestion if we want to try to solve the air bubble issue?

Yup, mine is exactly like that. White plastic guide cup, and removed, I see an e-clip (thanks for the proper term). Alright, sounds like I have some steps to try (although I'm also concerned with being unable to connect top & bottom parts without the rod and the filter. Might be two issues here.

Nope, I cannot connect top & bottom part without the rod and the filter.

Is downsizing from 3hp variable to 1.85hp variable a valid suggestion if we want to try to solve the air bubble issue?

Yeah, that's exactly what happened to me just few mins ago. I turned knob clockwise.. being careful that it's at an angle where it doesn't lock up too early (I gently vibrate the top part). Turn some more, but then it gets hard/stuck. I counter-clockwised to take top part off. Turns out rod...

Is downsizing from 3hp variable to 1.85hp variable a valid suggestion if we want to try to solve the air bubble issue?

Ahh no, nothing like that, outside built-in automation that our current pump offers (starts pumping at specific time). No automation for turning valves, heating up, etc.

What type of automation? My current setup (before pump went out): it begins at a time (10am or so if I recall) and turns off later in the day. Was that what you meant by automation?

Is downsizing from 3hp variable to 1.85hp variable a valid suggestion if we want to try to solve the air bubble issue?

Pretty old, possibly original o-ring. I'll take a better look at oring and the roundness now and see if this issue is plausible. Noted that you said this is likely not the issue - just want to make sure we can rule this one out. BRB

Is downsizing from 3hp variable to 1.85hp variable a valid suggestion if we want to try to solve the air bubble issue?

Yup! I actually referenced to one of those links in the 3rd post in this thread Is downsizing from 3hp variable to 1.85hp variable a valid suggestion if we want to try to solve the air bubble issue? Helpful, I added yours into my list of potential issues that I need to identify, isolate, or...

It's T-15 cell. I just updated my signature with that info.l If you need the AquaRite SWCG model number, I don't have that right now - I'm trying to find that out but best I can provide is it's AquaRite Electonic Chlorine Generator, same one seen here...

Is downsizing from 3hp variable to 1.85hp variable a valid suggestion if we want to try to solve the air bubble issue?

Re: the cartridge filter cylinder container - when I have the rod removed, I cannot close top/bottom parts together. Is this indicative of a lubricant issue (as in maybe the rod wasn't the issue in the first place)?
