Testing reagents and chemicals over winter?

So I left my HTH test kit, CYA reagent and Liquid CYA in a storage bin outside all winter. All were purchased new last August. Assuming the liquid CYA is ok. But thinking the test reagents should be replaced?

Ok. Just got back from a week vacation. Drained pool before I left. Just ordered the 6 way test kit that should be here Monday. Ordered some CYA that will be here on Friday. Will next pickup a batch of chlorine bleach from Costco as well. And then will clean pool as noted in the guide and...

Green/yellow water in small intex pool

Man I have alot to learn :-) I never even HEARD of CYA until today reading on this forum. I can see that happening. I use 1 inch tablets in a floating dispenser. It does seem like sometimes my chloring is very high but the water isnt as clear as I'd think. So, for a pool such as mine -...

Green/yellow water in small intex pool

Thanks, I'll do that. Dump, clean and refill. We're going away on vacation in a week so it will be good timing anyway. Thanks for the tip on the test kit. I always had droppers but then read some articles that said strips were better.

Green/yellow water in small intex pool

Hi all, I have an above ground intex round, 10' diamater and 30" deep, seasonal pool. I've had amazing success over the years by getting an oversized intext sand filter (3000 GPH, 0.75 HP). Always maintained a crystal clear pool for several years, until now. Definitely seems to be algae as I...

    Help wiring mew pump

Hi all, I came on here researching how to bond my new pool pump and after reading realized i probably have more questions and work to do... I have an 8' diamater above ground metal frame Intext pool. We put it up and down every summer and fall. I love the pool but hate the cheap pump that...

Heating Plan for New Inflatable Spa

Hi all, first time spa owner here. Well, really its a new Intex inflatable 6 person spa holding approx 300 gallons. We're just not in a place yet to invest in a full blown hot tub. Anyway I'd still like to make improvements. The included heating system is a 1300W heater. It takes forever to heat...

Can an Off Level Pool Cause Pinhole Leaks?

Thanks for the welcome and the quick reply. I completely get your point about the liner needing to be supported and knew I was running a risk by not doing that. Interesting however your comment on the abrasive foundation. I have a thin layer of padding from an old patio rug underneath 95% of the...

Can an Off Level Pool Cause Pinhole Leaks?

Hi all, first time poster here. Exactly 1 year ago I purchased an 10' Intex Above Ground Prism Frame pool. We love it as its perfect for us. We have it installed on our patio, which is made up of pavers. The patio was purposely built to slope downwards a bit, so the pool will always be off level...
