True. Here is a better look at the design. I believe the steps are around 6 feet long right now but do come to a point.

I believe I understand what you are saying, but if adding to the steps, wouldn’t that take even more of my 3.5 end away? I like the design of having steps all the way across the sun shelf but took it out to add more 3.5 room.
