    Featured DIY Solar Cover Roller

Yeah the steps section sorta just gets bunched up as I roll it. But it's a small enough section it doesn't matter. I don't cover them when removed, mainly because I didn't find a solution that I liked. And that may have contributed to my covers wearing out faster than they otherwise would have.

It's not critical that you have the pipe centered. I have a large oddly shaped pool, and for one section I have the pipe almost all the way to one side and it works fine. The bigger thing is keeping the pipe at the widest point. If it's not, as you roll the cover will end up covering up the...

Liner fading in corners after 4 years - normal?

Yeah, my fading is definitely along seams in the liner. But it's not one full sheet or the other, just where they join up. I haven't noticed any real fading of the bench. Would the sun really cause fading of the liner that is underwater? I thought that the water would block those UV...

Liner fading in corners after 4 years - normal?

This summer I have noticed what seems to be some odd fading with our liner. It's somewhat subtle, but it's definitely there. What is odd is that it seems to be at the junction between a wall and the floor. The only thing I could think of causing fading is chlorine, but I see no reason there'd...

    Help with slightly cloudy water

I tossed my chemicals for CH a while back because I was under the impression they were only helpful for plaster pools (oops). I think I'll be able to borrow some from my friend in a few days to test CH. I use pool math but only to calculate what to add, not to track a history of readings.

    Help with slightly cloudy water

My FC has actually been closer to 8-10ppm all season since I had the solar cover on for most of the time so the sun wasn't hitting the water. I also cleaned my filters probably 2 weeks ago so those should be fine. Honestly I don't think I've checked my CH in 2 years since I read it was only...

    Help with slightly cloudy water

When I opened the pool about 2 months ago it was fairly green. I did the SLAM process and had passing criteria after maybe 5-6 days. I haven't had any issues with the water this season, but I did notice that it's not quite as crystal clear as I would like. During the day it looks fine, but...

Maybe heater settled? Major leaking from pipe connections

I meant I'd get the wiggle room by using some flex PVC.

Maybe heater settled? Major leaking from pipe connections

The top one was lefty/righty, the bottom one was uppy/downy. That's why I was having a hard time getting them both to be happy at the same time. Seems like shims would be a quick fix, would having plumbing with some wiggle room be a more robust fix?
