Yeah I can tell you this, what we are experiencing isn't just a "start to taste" it, it's pretty salty. Maybe we are just sensitive to it, the pubmed link being 640 would suggest that this would be average, with my current salinity around 1800 that would be 3x when you start to taste it.

Yes everyone tastes it, and nobody is really drinking the pool water, this is just from splashing and going underwater.

I have a bit of a weird one I can't seem to figure out. I use two stenner pumps to run liquid chlroine and muratic acid to keep my FC/PH in check. I have never had SWG and have never used salt of any kind but I do live about 50 miles from the gulf of mexico (houston area) Salinity 1820 ppm...

Good point, I was just going off of previous results.

Usually the amount I added would have done that but it seems like the MA is more effective now that TA is so low.

Ran the waterfall the other day when guests came over and then tested PH the next day and it was way over 8 so I added half a jug of MA and now it's sitting at 7.2 PH and my TA is 40. Checking pool math and I am at CSI -0.78 which is no good, been running the waterfall almost all day and trying...

Wanted to just follow up and say that once I got down to TA = 50 my pH stopped rising, I haven't been running the waterfall yet so that will be the next test but I haven't had to add MA in over two weeks and pH is holding steady at 7.6. :cool:

I see what you mean, going to a TA of 50 really moves the CSI to -.2 and then I would have to really stay on top of the rock water fall which I am okay with cause the more it runs the cooler the water stays. We'll see after a couple more applications of liquid chlorine if the pH goes to 8 again...
