Cloudy since raising cya. Any thoughts.

Yes, I did. I think I am just over stressed on the 0.5 still showing up. 15.5+0.5 this morning and 8.5+0.5 tonight. 90's here and very humid. I removed step pads/ one felt slimy on the bottom. No color. Worrisome though. Probably overthinking this. Pool is no longer cloudy and looks great...

Cloudy since raising cya. Any thoughts.

Have some cloudy water at deep end. Test results are Cl 5.0 and 0 cc.=5.0 TC, TA 90 since rain during night, pH 7.8 and CYA 50. Not sure if I have the start of a problem or not based solely on somewhat cloudy at the deepend. Also I just increased cya from 30 to 40 a few days ago, but showing 50...

Air bubbles in return jets, have tried all I can think of.

I noticed bubbles after vacuuming and accidentally sucking air during vacuuming and after disconnecting vac hose...just got sloppy...and it was just at the farthest jet from where I had connected the vac hose. Next time I backwashed and rinsed ...the bubbles stopped. Could it be so simple for you???

Should I bring my CYA up a little before closing at end of season?

Been checking my chems often due to vacuming due to digging nearby pond and lots of dirt/dust on the road and in the air. So, often have to add water with so much backwashing after vacs. My cya was at 35-40 range but now after weeks it is down to 20. Not sure if I should bring that cya level...

can I start the opening process a day ahead of the opening?

Thank you Richard! I will check with him about the plugs. We choose to close in Ohio. Never know how deep a freeze we will get. I think I will check the water temp so he doesn't freeze his arms off reaching the plugs!

can I start the opening process a day ahead of the opening?

Wondering if it is OK to go ahead and get my winter cover off (it's totally dry today) and to start adding water to get my water level up to the mid skimmer level? Hubby will be home in about 36 hours to get the lines opened and the filter and pump ready. That's why I am asking with the wait...

Opened Pool to find a Lose Liner. I wonder what caused that? Any ideas?

We suspect we took the water level too low causing the liner to contract and pop out in places. Not sure if that is the case or not cause it happened mainly just in the deep end. Our first year we let an experienced pro close the pool and they kept the water level just a few inches below the...

Newbie Got her test kit, opened pool and has some test results to discuss.

Thank you too . Added 121 ounce 8.25% BLEACH this pm, checked Chlorine about 5:30 pm. with the TF100. Results were FC 5.5ppm, CC were 0(none) clear. The TC therefore 5.5ppm. Will keep the FC in check above the minimum as you stated for the cya. Will run all tests again tomorrow to keep me on my...

Thank you for posting. This was my first time opening my pool. I get the pool math and chemistry now, but not sure the when and what's about adding the different products. You know, you read here the CYA test after adding, may not register for a week, so a bit confusing when you still need to...

The pool volume calculator as DivinDave stated has been corrected now to 23,800 based on an average depth of 5.5 ft. Thank you. Finished adding the rest of the stabilizer to the skimmer sock at 5am. Total CYA added was 87 ounces. 8.25% bleach added was 242 ounces just to finish off two jugs at...
