    Solar cover suggestions

I am under the same impression. I bought a heavier one last time and it lasted me about 5 years. I thought it would last longer. I am going tot buy a cheaper/thinner one this year and see how long it lasts. I also found that the heavier the cover, the more expensive reel you need. My reel...

    My Before & After Pics...

So last year we decided to tear down our deck and increase our pool deck size. This is how it has turned out so far. The fence will go up in a couple of weeks, the stone will cover the back wall of the house this fall sometime. The white outline used to be a sunroom...

Pool Opening Problems - Green w/ disappearing chlorine.

Thank you all for your help. My pool looks great and is crystal clear. It will be ready to swim as soon as I get the temp up. I am a true believer in the SLAM system and will use it every time I open my pool!

Pool Opening Problems - Green w/ disappearing chlorine.

Pretty sure. I had replaced the lining a few years ago and had to have water trucked in. It's 20x40 3ft/8ft. That's good to know with someone from the same climate with the same size pool!

Pool Opening Problems - Green w/ disappearing chlorine.

I understand. I used to have cya over 100 last year. I regularly drained and refilled to lower it even though they told me it was fine. I am starting to realize how I have been misled by my local pool store. I don't think they are bad people, but they seem to have a one-size-fits-all...

Pool Opening Problems - Green w/ disappearing chlorine.

Great info. Thanks. I will use liquid whenever I can, aside from my pucks. I found a store (Marc's) that seasonally stocks 12.5% for $2.79. I bought all they had- 13 gallons. So the pool looks a bit differnt now than it did a week ago. I am only losing a couple of ppm overnight. I will do...

Pool Opening Problems - Green w/ disappearing chlorine.

LOL. I can see the light at the end of the tunnel (or at the bottom of the pool). It is finally clearing up. SLAM is the solution. Hopefully just a few more days... On the bright side, my wife found 12.5% chlorine for $2.49/gallon. The pool store wants $4.50... She bought them all...

Pool Opening Problems - Green w/ disappearing chlorine.

I know, I just ran out of chlorine. i was up to 33 this morning and dropped to 26 this evening. Got it back up to 30 and have to get more chlorine tomorrow. The people at Dollar General think I'm a freak.

Pool Opening Problems - Green w/ disappearing chlorine.

So I started my SLAM yesterday late afternoon. I brought my PH up to 7.2 and added a ton of liquid chlorine. I got my FC to 25, but was out of chlorine. I bought more today. This morning my FC was 8. That is a huge drop, but the first time I have had any FC for any significant amount of...

Thanks. Signature filled! Chesterland is just east of Cleveland, Ohio. It's a small, sub-rural township.

One thing I don't see is how much liquid chlorine to put in. Any idea? Or is there a chart? Or do I just add and test, add and test. If so, how much is safe to add at a time?

Pool Opening Problems - Green w/ disappearing chlorine.

The first two tests were with the pool store. The last test of 2ppm of chlorine was with my Taylor FAS DPD test kit. All my other test resultss with the kit have been very close to that of the pool store which uses some computer test.

Pool Opening Problems - Green w/ disappearing chlorine.

So this year my pool is giving me trouble. 33000 gallons. Chlorine. DE filter. The pool temp is around 50 degrees. I opened on Monday the 30th. It was pretty green. I added 5 bags of Chlorox Xtra Blue (left over from last year) and then remembered I should be stablizing it first, so I...

Aquabot Left Out in the Rain. Won't move

So in my haste, ignorance, and machoness, I took the pump apart instead of removing it from the unit. Of course oil spilled all over the place. That being said, it smells very electrical. Like a burnt motor. All wires are sealed. Nothing is exposed. I took off the motor to see if I can get...
