    Switch to main drain?

Hi everyone! I recently got my pool replastered and am going through the startup process myself. The directions from the plaster guy say if there's a bunch of debris, to switch to the main drain. Problem is, I have no idea how to do that. Thanks in advance!

    First Timer, SLAM time

Hi everyone, I'm finally getting ready to move into my house and will be starting a SLAM. As for the state of the pool, the water is clear and looks fine. The 'problem' is that there is algae starting around the pool light, on the vacuum cord, and in the return box that leads to the skimmer (not...

    Handheld brush?

haha. Is it that easy? I wasn't sure if there was something special I should get. Thanks for the help!

    Handheld brush?

You said the same thing when I first made this post 1.5 weeks ago :) I still have not moved in so I still haven't started my slam yet. I know the algae will come back, that isn't my problem. I'm trying to keep it from getting worse. As of now, the water is still clear and there's just the algae...

    Handheld brush?

Yes, the wall whale does a better job of staying against the wall and is easier to move, but it isn't doing a better job of removing the algae, is what I meant. Apologies for not being clear on that. As for my problem, there is algae growing near my pool light. The algae isn't coming off very...

    Handheld brush?

Hi, so I got a wall whale and it isn't helping, basically performs just like my other brushes. Any other suggestions?

    Handheld brush?

Yes, I am adding chlorine 2-3x per week. I've had the house for a couple of months now. I just need to figure out a better way to brush my walls.

    Handheld brush?

I haven't moved into the house yet so I am not slamming yet as I am not there to perform it properly. I don't have the wall whale, just a pretty normal pool wall brush. Well, I have two different basic wall brushes, and neither does a good job. I think I am the problem (not brushing properly?)...

    Handheld brush?

I'm trying to clean the walls of my pool as green algae is starting to form, especially around the big light in the deep end. However, I'm having a hard time actually cleaning it. I'm not sure if I'm not getting enough leverage or what, but when I brush, the algae doesn't really seem to be...

How do I turn on my waterfall?

I bought a new house and it has a pool. I'm slowly trying to learn the equipment thanks to everyone here! Next on my list, figure out how to operate the waterfall. Here are two overview pictures of my pool equipment. I do have a couple of pictures close up of different parts, so please let me...

Is there a downside to keeping my pool up year round and not opening/closing?

I was wondering the same thing, so I'm glad you asked this question! I live near Jim so I suppose it'll be okay to keep things open year round (as long as I'm careful when a freeze does come through).

    Old School Pump Controls

Awesome, thanks for the info! I'll start a thread in the right forum for waterfalls to ask about that. As for the schedule, is it generally better to run at night or during the day? I feel like overnight would be better but not sure I'm right.

    Old School Pump Controls

This is what the control board (is there a different name for this?) looks like for the pool at my new house. I feel like I'm trying to set my pool by sundial :D The left side is marked 'filter pump' and the right side 'polaris'. How long is my filter running? What time does it run? What about...
