Bent connecting rod (Intex XTR pool)

Someone mentioned that the board would compress under the weight (slightly), but with all the other things under the base (ground cover, tarp, etc.), they were a tiny bit higher than the pavers (maybe 1/8" or something like that). And a lot of people use foam boards with no problems, so I assume...

Bent connecting rod (Intex XTR pool)

As far as I could see, all connections were good. Nothing loose other than the corner frame pieces which are supposed to be loose. I may have had a small unevenness at the corner, since it was 1/2"-1" lower, but all the pavers seem good. I cross checked them against each other. If it does not...

Bent connecting rod (Intex XTR pool)

Ah, thanks. At least, I'm not alone. :-) Do you think PVC 80 is stronger than the Intex rods?

Bent connecting rod (Intex XTR pool)

In general, you are correct, but that's not my case. My pool stands on the one-inch thick R-TECH foam boards covered by thick tarp. I intentionally left about one inch of the pavers exposed to level them with top of the foam boards..

Bent connecting rod (Intex XTR pool)

I installed my first pool (Intex 18x9x52 XTR) about a month ago. I did my best to level the ground and the legs support using regular and laser levels. The pool is on compacted crushed granite covered with R-TECH panels and thick tarp. For leg support I used 4-inch thick concrete retaining wall...

Low pressure when using a skimmer with dual intake pool and upgraded pump (all Intex)

That's what I have been suspecting. Thanks for the confirmation. I have been running it with both intake valves open, and it seems to work (as long as I have a clean skimmer sock).

Low pressure when using a skimmer with dual intake pool and upgraded pump (all Intex)

Sorry, did not realize there was a comment under my post. No, nothing is collapsing. I have pretty much a standard setup. See some photos here and here.

    Intex 9'x18' Support Pad Dimensions

Hey, sorry, did not get a notification about your comment. I used a pair of 12"x4"x8" concrete retaining wall blocks I got at Lowe's. See links in my post on the topic: Above ground pools for dummies (part II): Site preparation

    Intex 9'x18' Support Pad Dimensions

I just finished setting up my pool and I would recommend reducing the distances between the centers of the support pavers from 10'-10" and 19'-10" by an inch or two on each side. I used shorter pavers, and the support legs ended up being on the very edges of the pavers. If I were to do it again...

What to put under Intex 18x9x52 XTR pool installed on decomposed granite?

In case someone wonders about the same, I hand packed the ground surface and then installed (from bottom to top): Two layers of weed prevention fabric Ground cover that came with the pool 1"x8'x4' R-TECH insulation panels (foam boards) Thick tarp Worked out well (at least, so far). Here are...
