    Done slamming?

I'll clean my vials again. I could read a book that's at the bottom of my pool while I sit on the diving board. Its crystal clear! Ok, hold off on testing pH, TA will still be high as usual. I have people coming over this weekend to swim. Should I let the SLAM drop then? I'm so confused...

    Done slamming?

I'm at 28.5 FC and 2 CC today. Why does the CC stay so high? Water is crystal clear. Side questions: Is it ok to swim in a pool during a SLAM? Should I hold off on testing pH and TA? I think I read somewhere that high chlorine skews those readings?

    Done slamming?

LOL Yes, today I haven't added chlorine but I assume its best to do so. I've been trying to keep it at 28. I've scrubbed the drain as best as I can from the surface (meaning I didn't dive down to it). Steps are fiberglass and sealed. Sunlight? HAHA. Its been a mix of clouds and rain and...

    Done slamming?

Hi all. I opened my pool at the end of April and it was milky/cloudy so I started a SLAM and have been doing so for what feels like 3 weeks. I know sand filters are hard to clear, but in the last week my water has been crystal clear. I've been brushing daily or at least every other day and I...

    Intellichlor IC 40 versus Hayward?

Thanks for the info on that. I've read through the forum in search of which is better between them and it appears that IC40 is slightly more favored over Hayward? I've not heard of Circupool before. Anyway, thanks for replying.

    Intellichlor IC 40 versus Hayward?

My IC40 died last fall so this spring I ordered a new one and sadly it came defective. A crack in it sent a plume of water spurting out the top behind the gray cap that sits under the flow cover. Anyway, I'm attempting to get this resolved with Amazon presently but I was tossing around the idea...

    99% sure my SWG died

So there's been a change. The light now flashes to indicate check cell. Also, I learned if I press and hold the "more" button, it will give me a percent and that number is 40%. Presently, it appears my swg is not producing chlorine. Homebrewale - thanks, and I figured as much but there was...

    99% sure my SWG died

Hi James, Dec 14, 2015 is the date on the back. I did the overnight chlorine loss. Last night it was 10 (6pm) and this morning, late unfortunately, it was 8.5. We had cut power to the SWG and turned off the pump over night and restarted around 11:30 am today which is when I took the sample...

    99% sure my SWG died

The light stays solid all the time. The other two questions I will have to have my husband look at. I'm down an arm and can't do much.

    99% sure my SWG died

I learned my lesson with that last year and that's exactly why I've kept my FC between 7-9 all summer this year.

    99% sure my SWG died

I've not added any water in 10 days, though I'll say that we did fill it more than previously, but then I tested the next day to see what needed added/adjusted. I'll order new salt water testing and see if that's the issue. Maybe its gone bad? The rest of my kit is new this May so it should...

    99% sure my SWG died

Understood. I would figure that I would at least have salt in my pool that isn't dropping. That part puzzles me too. Like I said in an above post, I will try the OCLT. My pool chemistry has been pretty good all summer with no issues. I literally test my water every other day. I don't know...

    99% sure my SWG died

Pump run time is 24/7. I use TF-100 test kit. I have to run the test again this evening and I can try the OCLT and retest in the morning. As of last night: FC 5 pH 7.3 CYA 60 TA 90 CH 425 Salt 3000 (seems to be dropping) I've added no water or had any rain water in the pool. I added 40 lbs of...
